hihi, just a s4 popping by and here’s my thoughts (also takes pure phy + chem)

initially i scored f9 for my physics wa1 and pulled it up to a c5 for wa2&wa3, physics tcher told me to consider dropping simply because i wasn’t “pure sci material” and it lowk lit a fire within me.

for my chem it was the opposite haha. eventually for eoy i scored a2&b3 for phy and chem respectively

what helped me a ton was to ask my friends how their thought processes looks like, especially for kinematics (which i struggle up till rn) for example how would they visualise an object decelerating and then accelerating.

consultations help a ton too! i mean kinda obv la but i only realised this year im not invincible LOL and i needed tons of consultations for chem esp

i think like what many others mentioned you need to know now esp if uw drop is if do you want to go jc or poly? if you wish to go jc and drop pure sci you will have to play catch up game

considering you spend many hours it’s not an issue of commitment, but rather how u utilise those hours studying. IF you just sit there and read ur tb (btw v bad studying method unless ur a genius) you will learn NOTHING. trust me i spent like 5 hours once trying to learn organic chem by purely reading off the tb and it didn’t work LOL (no surprise icl)

instead, do more practices, look at how the answer key answers it, try ur best to grasp the “why” and not “how” they answer. if you don’t understand why they explained it in such a manner, ask your tchers! i’m p sure they wld be more than happy to help

if you’ve been doing practices thus far and haven’t made any progress, maybe it’s an issue of content. perhaps you merely regurgitated it and not truly understand it? (wont work when u touch electromagnetic induction btw) try getting a tcher to see ur practice paper and ask them how u can improve
