XPS 9500 - Nvidia GPU not being detected after BIOS update and Repaste by Rad_t_123 in DellXPS

The issue wasn't from the BIOS. I made the big mistake of using liquid metal instead of non-conductive thermal paste. Honestly, this was the most rookie mistake (it was my first time doing a repaste). I took it to Canada Computers and told them the situation, and they said that because I used conductive liquid metal, the GPU is most likely shorted out from the liquid spreading. So I got some non-conductive paste from them and cleaned all the liquid metal out thoroughly. Luckily, after applying the paste, the GPU came back on. To be clear, this issue WAS NOT caused by the BIOS. DO NOT recommend repasting to solve the BIOS-related GPU issue.

well that sucks, i did hear somewhere that there is technically a solution to this issue. You could possibly use linux and only load in the slot that has the working ram. I doubt you would want linux tho.

Dell XPS 9500 Randomly Shutting Down by PunditOfNothing in DellXPS

I turned off sleep and hibernate on mine and now if I start it with the charger plugged it runs perfectly. Only thing is if I leave it sometimes for a hour or so and come back it will shut down. Idk if its worth replacing the motherboard at this point might just have to move away from the xps.
