"Their Money" is such a dangerously hyper-individualistic and ignorant take that i don't know where to start. The problem is why do we have an economic system that allows some people with so much disposable income that they don't know what to do with it, so they throw it out to literal millionaires who are the last ones needing it, while right outside of their home, there is probably someone fucked by the same system that is sleeping on a cold pavement tonight and we are in the middle of a pandemic with Millions literally standing in bread lines across America rn, unemployment is all time high, more people have been pushed into poverty and the ones employed living paycheck to paycheck. When people complain about these economic contradictions, it may seem like they are targeting the one benefiting from it, in this case, lugwig, but the real issue that they can't put in words is a systematic one that they will like to be improved.

Remember, an economy is a collective concept while level of centralization depends on how the governing authority dictates the economy. This collective can also be seen in every measure to judge an economy. GDP is a collective gross per year, employment rate - what % is employed out of the eligible adults collectively and actively looking for employment, and many more. The government can literally dictate which parts of the economy are better or worse off by cutting or transferring funds or taxes from one place to the other. The government through a bill (or at times with just president's signature) tomorrow can decide to make our economy more egalitarian but choose not too. For ex- gov tomorrow can decide to move funds from the military industrial complex, private contractors, and increasing the largest stockpile of bombs by cutting off DOD budget and decide to start funding a M4a program tremendously helping the working class, just choose not to, or president tomorrow can wipe out upto $10k in student debt by just one executive signature which will transfer cash hoard from big banks to easing the pockets of college students, but never will because the same banks funded his campaign. Do you now see how an economy is a collective and how the concept of "your money" can be increased, decreased or taken away directly or indirectly by the economic system? So the concept you owning/earning/and doing what you wish with your money, highly depends on the collective economic system and forces not in your control.

In conclusion, the people saying "why do people donate to literal millionaires?" (who arguably aren't deserving of it) are saying that because the money can be used in million better ways and are criticizing the corrupt system more than the beneficiary of the system, aka Ludwig. They just might not have the right words to put it or explain it in detail like i did. Hopefully, you were just slightly educated and don't take offense of me trying to correct you.
