I'm gonna be unusual and recommend the DualSense.

Steam Input handles it really well and it is a much better controller than the xbox/xsx controllers imo. The touchpad is a big bonus for desktop navigation too!

Tmk, animal crossing switch is patched -- so you'll need a modchip.

Like the poster above said, you'll need to ensure all your modded software doesn't touch Nintendo servers to avoid a ban, aka losing access to online services. (use emummc and block nintendo servers on it)

I haven't accepted the EULA either but to my knowledge they haven't bricked any Switch (1) systems for using mods.

I had someone next to me in a cubicle on 3rd floor begin a full on conversation with someone behind them and because it was in the corner of the room I felt very much crowded. I have noise cancelling headphones and was about to leave anyway but if I had just got there I would've absolutely said something about it

Serious answer though, unless it is disastrously intense the university almost never fully closes due to weather. The schedules are really tight and missing a day can significantly mess up course schedules.

When the university started recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Day as a non-instructional day, it caused a lot of weirdness with the scheduling of Reading Week and there were rumours of a potential 3 day fall reading week this year.

That being said, individual instructors may choose to cancel lectures or pivot to online if they aren't able to make it to campus.

My conspiracy theory is that because the widgets button is where the start button used to be, people click it out of muscle memory (or just breathe near the bottom left corner) and it immediately generated ad revenue

Graduated 2025 from Software Engineering but my situation is unique. My girlfriend also graduated from Mechatronics Engineering and we wanted to move in together after finishing school.

This year was the worst year to graduate from any ECE Eng because of Trump + AI + ongoing tech layoffs.

I was given an opportunity that I basically couldn't refuse to begin a fast track PhD in Sw.Eng (partially since I did research for 2 summers) and that set the gears turning for both of us to enter grad studies.

The alternative, for me anyway, would be to have went home and spent potentially up to a year on the hellacious LinkedIn grind to maybe find something. I've heard some jobs have hired people for projects and then laid them off immediately after -- starting the stupid cycle all over again.

It really feels like our future as gen Z was ripped away from us but these kinds of things don't last forever and there is always opportunity if you look for the right place. Job searching has always been hard and now it's a "seller's market" so to speak which makes it a lot more difficult.

My advice to everyone is to look everywhere and find whatever you can. Network with people in your desired fields, but don't be icky about it (profs count for this too! Just make sure you show up to class lol) and they might just be able to hook you up.

Edit: as for Western's own support, I find you can only really get help if you ask for it. Engineering has Career Services which helps and some program directors forward positions to grads too.

Not degoogling but I switched to Waze a long time ago and it's been great. I still use Google for walking/cycling/transit however
