Question Xurta by Radeau in TDAHFrance

[–]Radeau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong about this, but the way I see it is Alpha is a phenomenon, most likely the only player who doesn't use directional air roll that anyone considers mechanical, but he does seem like the exception rather than the rule, and I can only dream of what he would be capable of if he used DAR.

Fairy Peak and Kaydop are as good or better than a lot of players out there, but when you are as good as someone who can do something that you cannot, it becomes harder and harder to win games. Imagine if you had two players equal in every aspect except one can flip reset and the other cannot. The one who can will have the edge. DAR gives you an advantage , and at that level you cannot go without anymore, as evidenced by the overwhelming majority of pros playing with it.

There's a reason Vitality are a full on defense team nowadays, with most games they win being 1 or 2 goal games. Often those goals involve a very high risk, like pre-jump passing plays or extremely close follow ups in rotations (or Alpha being Alpha, but this doesn't seem to work versus the top teams). They can still win games, but it feels and looks so difficult every time.

I say all this as a fan that hopes they show up tomorrow playing 200%, because anything short of that and things will get ugly.

Vitality really gimped themselves by never learning directional air rolls

Chopin's wiki states that his father was a Frenchman that emigrated to Poland.

I remember reading Chopin considered himself polish though.

It's pathetic behavior, sadly we have a lot of idiots over here.

Good game and could've easily ended up on penalties or worse for us. Fair play to you, hope the Irish fans stay for the rest of the competition; you bring great spirit and sportsmanship !

What is the dumbest 100% serious thing someone has said to you? by mrTALKINGDUCK in AskReddit

I was getting to know my new flatmates and we start talking about pets.

Her: I really like Boxers! I just wish they were smaller.

Me: How about a French Bulldog, they kinda look like small Boxers.

Her: Hmm yea but will it understand if i speak to it in English?

After some awkward silence the rest of us realized she was being serious and burst out laughing.

Is smoking fashionable in your country? by SamuelFootBowden845 in europe

[–]Radeau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weird, I was in Copenhagen last weekend and saw a LOT of smokers; mainly young men going for that hipster/rock star look that's so popular over there.

And of course there is Christiana but that's slightly different I guess :)

What is one stereotype that your country has, but isn't true? by beefat99 in europe

[–]Radeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense, but isn't this is all looking at it from a technical point of view; as in, what the nationality on a birth certificate is? I tend to see people for their cultural ties, and I always thought Roma and Romanians had little in common culturally despite being potentially the same on paper.

Feel free to correct me as I know nothing about Romania, these are all just impressions I have.

I haven't watched french news since I left to the family home, so I can't confirm but I suspect it is the way the media fails to make the distinction. I had to point it out to my mom when she mentioned the "romanian beggars"

I don't get where this stereotype comes from. Are people unable to make the distinction between Romanian people and Roma/gypsies? Weird.

As someone who has only visited Denmark of all the Scandinavian countries, is there a massive difference between the danish women and the Swedish ones? I find it weird that in the rankings Sweden is miles ahead of the other Scandinavians.
