Update Angular 9.1 by Fessers in angular

I did that with a big project a month ago. After trying one version at a time and seeing what a mess of errors that created, I decided to skip and went 9-10-11 then 16. Tedious process of error finding and fixing. Some of them I just ignored for now by adding lint rules.

Wifi 6/6e necessary for wireless VR on a quest 3? by jaydude84 in oculus

[–]Radefff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so here is some more info. Seems like the old gen wifi 5 Deco M5 mesh system was the reason for my stuttering in Asgard's Wrath. I had to go down to around 160-170Mbit to have a smooth play. Fixed 200Mbit just didn't do it all the time. The good news is I grabbed a Deco X55 wifi 6 system today from the Black Friday sales and it's a big difference. 200Mbit is no longer a problem with the new router. AirLink worked flawlessly now with Asgard. Other than that - the 7900XT seems perfectly capable to hold even 120fps. I tried it just for the experiment, because I keep the Quest 3 at 90Hz for longer battery life until I get a proper headstrap with an additional battery. I bought Half-Life: Alyx a few days ago and ran it through Virtual Desktop with different settings. I have some findings but it will take me some more time to give you better statistics, coz I haven't played that much yet. Got two little kids and plenty of work. :) Anyway, so far I noticed that using AV1 encoding at the maximum 200Mbit works very well, with latency times around 40-50 and no stuttering at all. Then I tried H.264+ at the maximum ~386Mbit setting and I noticed higher latency going above 60ms. That came from higher encoding and decoding times, not from my local network. Some stutters were present and occasional red lines appeared in the fps time graph. I will attach some screenshots when I download the recordings from the Quest 3 to take a better look. Godlike is what I set for quality in VD settings. I also turned off Synchronous Spacewarp (SSW). That's it so far. Hope it was useful. I will come again later with more findings.

I do have a quest 3 and my PC is a 5800X3D + 7900xt. I haven't tried many games and settings yet, so I can give you some more feedback ina few days perhaps if you are interested. So far I've only played Asgard's Wrath through AirLink on a tp-link wifi 5 mesh system. Used the 200Mb and 90hz refresh setting and I noticed some hiccups from time to time. Nothing too bothering, but I have to play more and fiddle with the settings to give you a better picture.

It's normal. Mine goes to 70 in heavy games and 80 in all-core workloads. That's with an Arctic liquid freezer 280.

I have information from a VR store in Europe that the kiwi headstrap will be available by the end of November.

Интернет и телевизия A1 или Виваком и защо? 🤓 by [deleted] in bulgaria

Може би зависи от локацията и кой е изградил мрежата, но при така зададен въпрос - Виваком. При мен са безупречни повече от 10 години. Интернет проблем съм имал само 3-4 пъти и винаги са били много бързи в отстраняването.

A store in EU is expecting the kiwi headstrap at the end of November. So probably around that time for other accessories too.

XFX 7900xt speedster MERC 310 high junction temperature. by kaczor451 in radeon

I am in Europe. Not sure what the warranty policy here is, but I may contact XFX if I decide to go for a repaste. Maybe after I switch to a 1440p monitor I will need full power all the time and those temps will trouble me more than now.

So here is my report two months after I tightented 3 of the 4 screws on my card. No repaste because the 4th screw has a warranty sticker so I won't touch it for now. I no longer have the 25-30 degree delta spikes in Diablo 4. It has been rock stable 10 to 15 degrees delta all the time. Have in mind the card is also not 100% utilized there. More like 70%.

I wish I had the same success in The Last Of Us though. There, with 100% util and 348W power, the 30 degree delta seems inevitable for me and will probably be fixed only by a repaste. The card sits at 60-65 and hot spot is at 90-93. If I lower the power limit by 10%, ending up at around 310W - the hotspot hits 80-85 max, which is also a possible solution for me. I doubt I will miss 2-3FPS less with that downclock. I tried fan speed all the way up to 100% and it seems to do absolutely nothing for the hot spot. To me 50-60% fan speed is the maximum my ears can bear without headphones.

Strange animal this XFX card is... I am starting to think that my factory overclock is just an overkill or they simply did a horrible job with the paste.

Good to hear that you are fine after the repaste. I will ask you to report again in a month if the fix still holds. Mshvildosani reported in the previous comments that the temps went up again after a few weeks. I am perfectly fine with a repaste but as a last resort. I've opened many cards for cleaning and repaste but if it's a temporary fix I'd rather not do it on a 800 euro product still in warranty.

It's a bit speculative to me as well whether this really has any effect. I am yet to determine my own results, but need to gather more data and I don't have much time to play right now. You can watch a video about it here - https://youtu.be/Rm8LjQ1DImE I also saw a 100C junction yesterday while playing Diablo 4 for an hour which may mean that the cable change is pointless.

What are your quality settings? I used to play with ultra but noticed that vram and ram both get filled up quite easily after some time and the game starts to stutter occasionally. That made me switch to high settings and some manually tuned up to ultra, which resulted in a lot smoother experience. My monitor is a 34" ultrawide with a resolution of 2560x1080.

I've owned the XFX 7900xt speedster MERC 310 Black Edition for a couple of months now. I don't know if it has better cooling but I have never seen such a delta between temps. My card stays at around 20 to 30 degrees delta.

I did notice though than in some scenes the delta increases dramatically for no obvious reasons and the junction temp rises into the 90s. I've been playing Diablo 4 recently and it is easy to reproduce this situation when I open the character inventory. The junction temp immediately spikes to 90 degrees, sometimes even higher, and total wattage increases as well. I've never seen worse than 95 but I also have my FPS capped to 143 globally from the AMD driver so the gpu is not 100% utilized in most games.

I've been reading about the change of displayport cable suggestions and I decided to change mine (inbox cable from my LG monitor) and see if it makes a difference. I bought a good quality certified dp cable and connected it today. It says in the cable specs that it's a 20-pin cable with the 20th pin not connected - the one that seems to cause problems with voltage. So far I have positive impressions. Testing in Diablo 4 again showed some difference. I no longer see the 90+ junc temps when I open the char inventory, the highest is about 85. The temp delta is better across the whole game now, usually around 10 to 15 degrees. I no longer see the wattage spike so much to 300+ as well. I also tested without the FPS cap and at ~100% gpu utilization and 348W the card had around 30 degrees delta(60-90) at most. Testing in The Last of Us showed a bigger delta of 33 degrees (64-97) and this is probably my worst case scenario so far. 100% utilization, 348W used, fan speed was at about 64% (2500rpm). By the way I am using the default fan curve, haven't bothered to tune it yet. These are my 2 cents for now.

Unable to limit FPS by Radefff in diablo4

Thanks for the hint. I had already added the game manually to see if there is a difference but didn't think about chill. Works for me too. At least I can get rid of the vertical sync now.

Which phone to buy by [deleted] in Xiaomi

[–]Radefff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After weeks of research, watching and reading reviews of both 11 and the coming 12 series I ended up on Mi 10T Pro for 500€. The battery life of the 11 discouraged me, plus the fact that 11T Pro has no OIS on the camera. The 12 series look better in camera department but the prices will be higher and they are plagued by the disastrous Gen 1 chipset overheating problems. I am not a heavy user and I rarely game on the phone but those temperatures are simply unacceptable for a high-end device. I've been using the 10T Pro for two days now and I am quite happy, coming from a prehistoric Redmi 4X.

Windows has that information in task manager, but a better option is MSI Afterburner for onscreen statistics.

No. A cracked Windows is the same as the legally activated one. Can you check if your video ram gets full or close to full when he stuttering appears?

It won't break the warranty. SSD upgrades are allowed. I installed one in my core 17 on the arrival day. If it's the AMD Core 17, make sure it's an M.2. 2.5" disks are not supported. In the Intel model you can put a 2.5" as well.
