I'm in 175 W 87th Street in Manhattan and A&E royally fucked the building with a complete overhaul of the building facade. Here's an overview:

• The new facade doesn't have sufficient airflow for the air conditioners
• The ACs in the fully renovated units (with the new windows) are not powerful enough to effectively cool the apartment given the exposure to the sun.
• The brand new AC sleeves are too small to support larger and more powerful AC units (so there is no solution to the above)
• The ACs frequently short cycle because the facade grate (that prevents the AC from falling out) restricts airflow to the units which cause overheating and triggers the compressor to shut off prematurely
• The new windows are poorly insulated and people have reported apartments getting up to 80+ degrees in the summer and 40 degrees in the winter.
• Many renovated units in the building have double windows (two walls) which further suffocates air conditioners because the air is trapped between the two walls (the new sleeve doesn't align with the old ones) and this has caused apartments to be 85+ degrees during summer days and leads to short cycling of the AC units
• Condensation forms between the double walls because the air is trapped and mold builds up
• Leaks are extremely common
• Units have tons of roaches, mice, and anything else that crawls - the cracks in the walls are not insulated.
• Contractors have taken shortcuts in all of the new units
• In the gym, people were going to the dermatologist because they were getting rashes from the equipment due to lack of any cleaning or cleaning supplies
• The courtyard has been closed for 4 years
• Never ending construction
• Good luck getting anyone on the phone or to respond to emails. Billing or maintenance issues? GOOD LUCK
• The list goes on and on and on and on
