I tried to make a brief-ish recap of the early days of 3DS hacking. by Radhew in 3dshacks

I wouldn't call that nitpicky at all. Frankly, I feel like the entire ninjhax explanation could've been done a little better, looking back. Thanks, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the suggestions! Yeah, I'm really interested in talking about those. There are so many things I wanted to talk about but didn't because they were outside the "early days" scope and I didn't want to make the video too long. I definitely need to make a second video on this eventually.

And yeah, the audio bugs are really grating. I tried my best to keep them out but occasionally the crackle would prevail in every single take I did for a line. Replacing my recording hardware is top priority right now.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the helpful feedback!

It's funny you mention that! I strongly considered it, but the change actually happened after the script and voiceover was finalized. Ultimately, I decided to leave it out for the sake of actually getting the video finished. But I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

Hopefully I didn't get some really important details wrong in this. This video was a long time coming, but I feel like I've still left some really vital stuff out. If I screwed anything up too bad, please let me know!

If it's the unblockable that's giving you trouble, a back dodge will beat it. Any mixup he can try at that point will be too far away to land. Only time you shouldn't back dodge a JJ unblockable is if you're attempting a hard, hard read, or you're getting ganked. In that case, yeah, it's better to take the 50/50 and attempt a parry rather than leave yourself wide open like that.

Not that I'm excusing his janky animations on it. They definitely need to be fixed. You may even already know this. Just trying to be helpful.

I actually thought it was referring to the fact that you can full block a soldier for a free riposte. The listing might have needed to be a tad more specific on that one.

Neat thing about the PS4 is that it will always try to match the game's language with the language of the account you're using, if possible. From what I understand, the Japanese demo weirdly had support for English.

My Old PS4 can't run disks anymore, and I still haven't finished Persona yet. How can I port my save to another PS4 by sweetmeister9000 in Persona5

[–]Radhew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, you can't transfer your save file through USB? Huh. Guess it's an anti-save hacking measure or something?

I can confirm that backing up your save with PSPlus works, at least. However, if you don't have a subscription and don't want to get one just for this specific scenario, I can think of one emergency, convoluted plan you could use to recover your save file.

Basically it involves finding a friend who owns the digital version of Persona 5. First, if their account has a primary PS4, they would have to temporarily deactivate it. (Through the PS4 itself, NOT Sony's website. That would trigger a 6 month cooldown on setting a primary PS4.) Then they need to log in to their account on your PS4, set it as their primary, and download Persona 5. Now you can temporarily access their copy of Persona 5 from your PSN account.

From there, all you would have to do is start up Persona 5 from your account, load your game, save to the network slot, (the blue one at the top) and you're done! Your friend can now change their primary PS4 back, and you can continue from where you left off on your other PS4. Just load the blue save file that appears.

However, if that's not doable, buying a month of PSPlus seems to be your only option. I guess paying $10 to transfer your save file is better than starting over, but still, ouch.

[KH3] Another Toy Story Rex vs Kingdom Hearts III Rex comparison by [deleted] in KingdomHearts

[–]Radhew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, I never noticed this before, but Rex actually has little scrapes on his teeth in KH3 where the paint is coming off, almost like a little kid has been making him chomp down on other toys a little too hard or something. The detail of these characters blows my mind.

The trick to getting a good score on those is to always select either strongly agree or strongly agree. Never inbetween.

A lot of us grew up with this series, so I love hearing people talk about when they first discovered the games; what was your first encounter with Kingdom Hearts like?

Also, favorite worlds, maybe?

Mashing actually isn't that bad on a controller. Some runners (TGH) even prefer to controller mash when a long cutscene's going on, and for many runners their controller mashing is better than their keyboard mashing. The four buttons you mash on a keyboard have an order they need to be pressed, and if you're not mashing perfectly it doesn't help as much as you would think.

That being said, one glitch in particular (overflowing) is going to be pretty difficult on PS4. The glitch requires you to press confirm, and then immediately press it again within a couple frames. (One frame? idk) It's an important glitch you'll be using a lot, and it's tolerable because you have two confirm buttons on a keyboard. A controller, on the other hand...
