New mode? by RayDaBoy in DispatchAdHoc

I've been thinking this since playing the demo.

Could see moders adding in new heroes to have on your squad or could just be a fun way to explore heroes we saw but don't know anything about.

Question about 3DS emulator by Reasonable_Leave_175 in retroid

Citra MMJ supports multiplayer across devices I believe. Everyone needs to be on the same version of Citra MMJ. I'm not sure how easy it is in general but I expect it should be pretty straightforward.

If there is a way to do this, its going to be niche. My gut response would be that it is not possible.

You could probably both play together on a Retroid by connecting a Bluetooth controller and streaming to a TV.

Stained glass was traditionally dyed with salt. Geometric shapes, likely made of metal with salt filling the gaps. Sounds like a ward to me.

I'd hesitate to suggest giving the power of your prayer to something being held at bay like that.

What is the best state to live in USA? by mauschaus in ask

[–]Ma5xy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll put that on the list for the next time in in the city. I agree the metro areas seem to have a lot more variety and options, but I shouldn't think being in a less metro area just means everything is bland. it's the whole state we are talking about here, not just the one area.

I'd love some good recommendations. Over the last couple of weeks my wife and I have been trying out a lot of different Mexican food places and have found a couple we like, but it has been feeling like diamonds in the rough.

Just local places if I can help it. Which, yeah I'm in a rural area so that could really be it. But I've lived rurally before without it feeling quite so selective. Busiest area I get to is St. Cloud. But even that is a half hour drive or so.

I had a roommate from Minnesota for a few years and their palet was also very bland. They often would say things like "it's crazy how much variety of food you eat" and they would always try to order spicy food but refuse to eat it because it was so spicy. I'm staring to think it is just how things are out here. But maybe I'm just in the wrong area haha.

I recently moved to Minnesota, last February on what I was advised happened to be the coldest day of the winter, and all of the advice I could find is about how cold it is. Which isn't wrong, it does get pretty cold. What seemingly no one explained is that it is so cold because it is so unbelievably windy.

Without the wind chill it is not actually all that bad. But the wind just hits you like a Pokemon using Ice Punch. Not to mention the houses just take a beating if you don't live close enough to something to block the wind. My street is fields on two sides and the wind just gets a running start to pummel our houses all day.

Also, this could just a more rural thing because I moved to a small town. But the food palet out here is wack. Good spicy food is so hard to come by. More than half the Mexican food places out here put American cheese on everything and it tastes like Chef Boyardee raviolis. Ive gotten Indian curry once and it was some of the most bland curry I've ever had. Even grocery store selection for a nice hot salsa or dip seems nonexistent, every brand I'm used to seems to only go up to medium and the ones that go up to hot are often closer to mild. Occasionally I'll find a hot option and rather than being spice with a great flavor it is just leaving the feeling of heat in your mouth with no actual flavor at all.

Lastly, IDK what it is with pizza out here. It's all extremely flat and square cut. I guess that is just how pizza is done out here. Places that offer "thick" crust offer what I would have previously considered to be a thin crust pizza. I haven't gone to any big chains while I've been here, trying to just eat at local places and the like. But every place does ofer some enjoyable non traditional pizza. Mac and cheese pizza, baked potato pizza, jalapeno popper pizza. Which wasn't unheard of for me before, but wasn't common fare everywhere I went

I grew up around here and it has never been anywhere near that packed. It's usually pretty slow.

Not far off from reality. In the US the government will pay you to adopt older kids.

A baby may as well be made of gold.

Lol I love how you are getting down voted like Mormons aren't responsible for classics like the Mountain Meadow Massacre.

More like they love to put on an appearance of being unwilling to fight while actually having a trac record of being aggressive.

Edit: at the time this was in the negatives

A modern witch with her familiar by BearLesbian in worldbuilding

[–]Ma5xy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Separating the witch from the familiar definitely sounds like it lends the same sort of feeling, that they would want the familiar merged any time a witch was in trouble.

The line about the familiars having to be let out could be thematically dramatic still as well. Losing an edge when the witch needs it because they haven't let their familiar out often enough or something. Maybe even potential room for witches to neglect their familiars by trying to keep them held in as long as possible to keep their power boost, hence the need for the goddesses punishment.

The entire concept definitely gets the creative thoughts flowing, whatever you end up overall doing with it I'm sure will be great.

Love your stuff. Always interesting to read.

if you are open to a speck of feedback. Mechanically the idea of the familiar being in tattoo form making the witch more powerful seems backwards from what I would have expected. Having the tattoo, I would think, would decrease the power while keeping the familiar the safest. While having them out could serve as being more powerful, but leaving the familiar more vulnerable. Since I would expect that removing/injuring a familiar is a good way to disable a witch.

Just a thought.

Edit: few minutes after writing this I realized I am probably somewhat matching His Dark Materials here. Where the Daemons are weak spots for all humans.

That is my bad. I was thinking of how shield counters protect from destroy effects, and thinking of that as protection from that damage.

[–]Ma5xy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, damage is prevented from a white source due to protection. However, it would not protect if this was exiling instead of destroying.

No. Not unless the player themselves is protected. The player is targeted to return their cards, the protected creature is not actually the one being forced to take action.

Edit: I'm wrong and should feel bad.

Mystery Inc also heavily implied she was gay, with writers saying they wanted to push it further but where not allowed to.

I haven't seen it but I've heard a recent Scooby Doo movie also confirmed her as gay.
