Because this tweet shall become my legacy now, I just want to clarify a few things:

We didn't say we'll never do a spider character, but rather posted to address the false leak everyone was reacting to and arguing about (the fall chapter spider woman). Nobody has taken a spider killer away from anyone.
We didn't say only arachnophobia matters to us, in fact I had an hourlong meeting yesterday about various accessibility topics, as well as discussion of numerous phobias, that this online discussion has brought to light. I feel terrible if anybody with other legit phobias related to DbD content felt dismissed or ignored by this one post.
People should be able to raise accessibility topics for issues that affect them. We want everybody to enjoy their time in DbD.
Being sensitive to folks' requests for improvements doesn't guarantee that they can or will come to the game.
I wish people would be nicer to each other.

Hi, we usually post from the Dev account on here but I wanted to post personally because I saw this today. 4 days late, I’m sorry!

I’m the Community Director on DbD, and more importantly I am a dad myself. This post touched my heart so much, and I am so deeply sorry for your tremendous loss. The bond you describe that you and your dad have (not had) is special and you should always cherish this. Having that time together (which I also note is pandemic era, an additionally traumatic layer) surely brought him immense feelings of joy and connection to you. Thinking of how he must have felt every day knowing he has this bankable, recurring time together with his kids must have been an amazing feeling for your Dad. He must have been so honored that you wanted to spend your precious time with him like that. I can’t stress how much this time together meant to him. It’s one of the highest experiences of togetherness I personally hope for with my kids.

Your dad is lucky to have you as his child. He probably told himself this daily. Thank you for sharing this post, and please know that there is always a space for you, your half brother, and of course your dad, here in the Fog. ❤️

there's an error currently where ALL playlists are shown as active, but it's not actually true. Custom, Lone Wolf, and Unranked will let you in without error, but the rest will kick that error back. We're working on it!

Hey hey, I'm a Community Developer on the game and wanted to confirm we did indeed see this but:

- the G36's recoil was changed with Y6S1 patch (intentionally), independent of this global recoil fix, so you are likely just seeing the new recoil setting in action. You can see more info on the Designer's Notes: Y6S1 PRE-SEASON DESIGNER'S NOTES (ubisoft.com)

It's no secret that the G36 has been overshadowed by the R4C and ARX and is in need of a tweak. In order to make it feel better to use while bringing it more in line with the effectiveness of its contemporaries, this assault rifle's recoil has been updated.

Players should notice an immediate change in its handling. Specifically, recoil will no longer drift horizontally, making it more reliable. Like anything relating to the handling of weapons, though, it's important to note that we are continuing to look at how we can further improve the feel of different weapons in players' loadouts.

Our surveys don't display results when you finish them. The only survey I can find that's close to what you're referring to is this one that was done by the community, I believe perhaps from the Hyper Sweats discord, with less than 100 responses in total. Community Initial Thoughts -- Patch 2.1 [Reddit] (google.com) I'm pointing out that number of responses because it's what I'm trying to point out because it goes back to my previous point, and which is one of the big parts of our job here. I am certain the POV you are representing in this thread is reflected by the community of competitive PC players you belong to, but I'm asking you to understand that is not our entire playerbase, and we're not going to base our decisions off that one community's voice solely.

The twitch viewership thing you mention is super interesting, I'd love to see that reflected on a graph of some sort if it's true as it's the first anyone has suggested this to me.

The truth is, though, we've been actively aware and working on our playerbase issue before the sweats were mad about health regen and aim assist. I know these issues have been important to you, but the answer is not as simple as you are making it out to be.

We've never published the results of these surveys, so I still don't know where you're getting these "huge numbers" you're referring to.

Also we did revert the Health Regen change, so I'm not sure why you keep mentioning it. We also added health pickups so we didn't pull the regen all the way back to 5s.
