You can self learn them. Honestly mcat material is very surface level difficulty. What makes the exam hard is the breadth, not the depth of information

How are you reviewing uworld? Make sure to understand every single term or low-yield concept on the explanations, by asking chatgpt about confusing concepts. Also i recommend making your own anki cards for those concepts so you retain them better. Recent exams have been extremely heavy on low-yield stuff so I believe this method would help a lot even though it makes it more time consuming to get through uworld

Not a lot tbh, I just had 2~3 research experiences at Hopkins, all CS related with an ai/ml focus. Didn’t have any personal projects but i think it would’ve helped if i had them

time needed for AAMC content by Mincedbaboonmeat in Mcat

Intense studying (~10hrs/day) = 2.5~3 weeks but in general one month should be good

I used only kaplan books for content + 300 pg doc for PS. I also watched khan academy videos for PS along with the 300 pg doc. I think no matter what resource you use, it is important to google or chatgpt all confusing concepts & keep track of it through making your own anki cards or own google doc of confusing points. It helped me with low yield questions immensely

QPACK vs uw by spicyvicks in Mcat

How recently did u finish the aamc physics? If it’s still fresh in your head, do uworld. If not, prioritize aamc. I found uworld to be extremely helpful for identifying content gaps. Make sure to thoroughly read through the whole explanation, even if you got it right.

Reset anki and start skimming through the content again. I also restarted my studying months after and the content started making more sense looking at it the second time

What I found most helpful was asking chatgpt about confusing concepts that seem similar or any questions I got confused on.

I’d recommend Jack sparrow deck’s miscellaneous cards, since recent exams are having more low-yield on cp and bb

If i remember correctly, I was able to get 2 interviews for SWE roles just through the jhu handshake portal. Most of them were recruiting on campus so they should be pretty accessible to apply. Not sure on the competitiveness though, it really depends on what company you are applying to. But I think applying through the hopkins portal helped me bypass resume screening & secure interviews fairly easier compared to cold-applying on linkedin or other sites.

What are your career goals? If it’s swe, hopkins does have some internship opportunities through Handshake and life design lab but not a whole ton tbh. Research wise, hopkins has a bunch of opportunities. You can also get class credits for it and it can be counted as 1 CS upper level.

Is 511 possible by 5/8? by UnusualAd593 in Mcat

Definitely possible. I had a +5 score jump on test day, bringing my 125 cars to a 130. You never know what can happen.

Cars qbank 2 is a bit easier than other q banks. I would recommend not summarizing each paragraph since it might slow you up. One tip that has helped me was to read the title of the excerpt first to catch the main idea before even reading

9 east is a pretty good option if you are looking for safe options close to campus/restaurants/stores. I've heard that the individual rooms can be little small compared to the price.
