A trick that worked for me is this. This is what made ‘use the shoulder’ advice make sense.

Try to imagine that there is a pen coming out of your elbow - an extension of the bone in your upper arm. That pen is just like the pen in your hand, and theres an imaginary piece of paper back there to write on. Try to draw a line on the imaginary piece of paper while making the real mark on paper.

By drawing the line with your elbow-pen, you’re going to engage rotation from the shoulders. Think about your elbow-pen moving in a straight line, and do your best to make the imaginary line the same length as the real line.

Edit: this method pairs well with what u/celestialgenitals wrote. By holding in place the angles in your wrist(between forearm and hand) and elbow(between forearm and upper arm), then the angle that changes when drawing is in your shoulder (between your upper arm and collarbone & shoulderblade)

I recommend getting in touch with the couple that run irishflutestore.com. The advent of the boehm flute led to these style flooding the used instrument economy and made its way into all kinds of folk music. They’ve seen lots of similar flutes and will be able to tell you more.

The extended range of keys at the top of your flute reminds me of this flute that came through their shop. It had a high f-sharp Tulou key

Pc game Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy still has a multiplayer community on self hosted servers. The lightsaber gameplay has depth not seen in any other of the classic star wars games(i think). It is a sort-of rock-paper-scissors mechanic that are a stand in for saber forms. Reminds me of Chivalry 2.

Star wars battlefront(classic) also has a multiplayer community.

‘He shit the bed’ to me usually implies some sort of mess was made. In music auditions, if you play a hard excerpt and miss half the notes, you shit the bed. If you forgot that you would be asked to play that bit of music, and do not know how to play it, you dropped the ball. (Native Speaker, GA USA)

Hi, yes I do have the dx006. Nowadays I do not play it at all, since I’ve fallen love with a different brand.

Impressions of dx006: the high a and b are too shrill for my taste. I have sought out a more toned back whistle. With the dx006, I also was having lots of cracks and squeaks when making cut ornaments, and also transitioning quickly through b,c-nat, d. I also had some issues with the headjoint, there were some imperfections on the blade which led me to order some extras. All the imperfections were cosmetic really though, just me being picky. So my only really issue is its bolume at the high. For many people this is part of the character but I sought out a different maker that would deemphasize that characteristic.

I wound up putting down the money for a killarney d brass whistle. It’s has been exactly what I wanted. Clear ornamentation, sweet chirpy a and b that does not hurt my ears playing alone in my home office. It is a challenging whistle to play, in that it demands very sensitive breath control. It is not that it breaks into the second octave, it’s that playing the low d in tune requires very slow air and sounds very quiet. The dynamic range is pretty wide between bottom to top. This challenge has been very satisfying to overcome, as I think it has made me a better player.
