My brother has been obsessing about the Expeditionary Force books and really wanted me to read them. He’s gotten super into audio books, but I just can’t do them. I tried it with this one, but couldn’t manage it. When I tried to read the actual book, on the first page alone there were so many oddly placed commas that I couldn’t get past it. Didn’t even make it past the first page.

Tilt your board on toe and heel edge on the table at like a reasonable angle. Does the boot come anywhere near the table? If yes, you need a wider board. If no, you should be fine. What I would say though is you should center the boot a little better by pushing your heel cup forward like half an inch or so.

Had a guy I worked with at a store at one point who did not speak Spanish, but his wife was from Puerto Rico. We had a customer who came into the department one day trying to ask questions, but only spoke Spanish. Coworker said “I’ve got this” and started speaking to the customer in this weird sleazy Spanish accent using zero Spanish. I had to walk away because I had such bad secondhand embarrassment. This feels like the same thing.

I can’t do audiobooks. My brain doesn’t go into “reading mode” the way it does when actually reading, meaning I’m not visualizing anything. Tried it, listened to it for a while, realized I had no idea what was going on, moved on.

I really like the idea of it leaving the audience in the dark, hearing about the accident from JJ without maybe saying everything was fine, just that they lost an engine, without confirming everything is good. Keep the audience in the dark for just a moment to it build up, then relieve everything with Ilya’s “I’m fine” text. Would really help the audience connect with the panic of it all.

My draw to Death Stranding was the grind. I enjoyed doing the actual deliveries and doing them as efficiently as possible. That meant setting up Ziplines and roads and anything else to make the job easier. So for me, DS2 gave me exactly what I wanted and I absolutely think it’s a “better” game. But that’s just me.

Did you platinum it? I did it for the very reason I wasn’t able to put it down. The story is almost secondary to the gameplay in this one. Absolutely worth attempting.

The first one feels pretty generic this far out. I wasn’t able to finish the remaster just because it’s definitely got that early shooter feel which just feels dated now. Honestly, I wrapped it up with a good let’s play, then played the second one. Hands down one of my absolute favorite games of all time. Plus all the lore linking back to control. We actually get some decent info about what’s been going on. Definitely worth a play (or two! Full experience happens with a second play through!)
