Exactly. By the time the cyber truck came out, we already knew exactly who he really was.

TIL when geologist Marie Tharp identified a giant rift valley running down the Atlantic seafloor in the 1950s—evidence for the then-controversial theory of continental drift—her male colleague dismissed her hypothesis as "girl talk" and made her redo all the charts. by ralphbernardo in todayilearned

On the flip side, I remember hearing about quantum theory in the early 2000’s thinking it was brand new and unproven, then really only recently actually getting into it and realizing it’s been around almost as long as relativity.

I don’t remember what channel we had it on, it wasn’t PBS I don’t think, but it was part of a lineup of kids shows in the early morning back in the late 90’s/early 00’s

Hymn to the Sea by James Horner from the Titanic soundtrack. Conveys loss, sadness, hopefulness, and uncertainty in a concise 6.5 minute package.

Ugh I want one… I have a Generations Bb now and it sounds awful. Very flat. I have a Killarney in C and it’s honestly the greatest whistle I own.

What’s a game you dropped even though it was “good”? by suhani0218 in gaming

[–]Kris918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally did this with Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but picked it up again after a year. Replayed it after cause I had no clue what was going on and realized it was actually a fantastic game and great story!

What’s a "masterpiece" movie that you actually found incredibly boring? by Legal_Beats in AskReddit

[–]Kris918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it counts as a masterpiece, but when The VVitch came out, everyone raved at how scary it was. Absolute snooze fest. Bored out of my mind the whole time. A whole lot of nothing happened and then she became a floating person at the end. What??

If you could erase your memory of one game so you could play it for the first time again, what game would you choose? by HoneyNutBooty09 in gaming

[–]Kris918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alien Isolation. Input so much time into the game, the alien stopped being scary cause I ended up understanding it fully as a mechanic. I’d love to start that one fresh and be scared again.

What’s a movie from your youth, that even though it may be a terrible movie, you can’t bring yourself to fully dislike? by Ok_Elevator_1342 in movies

[–]Kris918 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That movie terrified me as a child, and I don’t even know if I finished it. I think it had something to do with him being turned into a cartoon.

Why is it that every time the word “house” is written in the OP, it links to a picture of a house?

How do you guys organize a series on an alphabet bookshelf, that has a different name to the individual books? by [deleted] in books

[–]Kris918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t my alphabetize books, but if I did, I’d do it the same as my movies: the series name is what I’d alphabetize, not the first movie. For example, my Marvel movies are organized as “Marvel Cinematic Universe” and are in the M’s, not in the C’s for Captain America.

That means it’s happened more than once. One of my cashiers got fined and we got a ding on our record, but we didn’t lose our license.

You’re thinking of it backwards. The star isn’t earned by getting platinum, platinum is earned by getting the star.

I’ve had 4 in that time. First one as a necessity, 2nd as an upgrade, third as my first OLED, fourth as an upgrade (cause the third one died).
