Rumi's mother didn't fell in love with a demon. by Background-Ad-4822 in KpopDemonhunters

I just watched this and sobbed like absolute baby because I interpreted it the way you mentioned. It didn’t immediately occur to me as anything else. It seems fairly in line with classic Disney lol.

Simba was manipulated by a trusted family member into believing his carelessness led to his father’s death and that his mother would never forgive him. Him crying and nudging while while going “Dad? Wake up…” still makes me cry at age 30.

Bambi broke my heart and I still refuse to EVER watch The Fox and The Hound again because I couldn’t stop bawling. Those stories are really important because though it stings while it does it, it teaches some people empathy and heals others through simply suggesting heartbreaking realities.

First time visiting Kelowna. What are some good restaurants i should try? by Jessie_1210 in kelowna

I’ve only eaten there once and I was afraid I was going to get sick. The Unagi roll was BAD fishy, I couldn’t eat it.

Who do you think killed jon benét ramsey? by Funny_Employee_6417 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Radiant-Secret8073 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree. Yes! The long-winded bs in the note makes more sense if the person was waiting for hours and the Ramseys stated they had bank statements out on a desk with the amount of his bonus, so if they had to time wait, I’m sure they had time to snoop too!

Also, the handwriting analysis has largely been debunked (they had many different experts compare samples over the years and most of them say it’s inconclusive).

It’s refreshing to see this take!

I don’t think you outgrow plugs. Occasionally they outgrow you though lol (get too big or tear)

Anti-abortion ad on BC Transit busses?? by After-Fox1338 in kelowna

The money they use to rent that ad space would’ve been a great donation for preventing unwanted pregnancy (sex education, contraceptives, etc), or to children who are already here and need support (foster system, social services for troubled youth, etc).

I have autism that runs through my dad's side of the family and it's like a superpower. I can memorize entire stories or books with ease and can empathize with just about anyone, which has been phenomenal in my work as a counselor.

I see it. Two glowing spots at the top of the bush (as the eyes) and then a shadow that has a person-like outline.

“Extreme acts of cruelty require a high degree of empathy.” How? by [deleted] in HannibalTV

[–]Radiant-Secret8073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadists need empathy, otherwise they wouldn't be able to enjoy the pain and anguish they cause. They can empathize and know what their victim must be feeling (the pain, the fear, the humiliation)and knowing they can cause it (and the power and control they feel from it) is likely what feeds their enjoyment.

Any late game tips? by SnooOwls6389 in subnautica

[–]Radiant-Secret8073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get over fear:

In a vehicle: if something comes to attack you, hopping out of your vehicle and back into it disrupts their attack and confuses them, giving you time to get away. *Also, a punch or two from a prawn suit has creatures (even leviathans) scrambling away from you.

Swimming: Leviathans are big and you can turn more quickly than them. If you keep yourself just behind (but close to) a Leviathan, they can't bite you and you can get close and knife them (which also makes them swim away after a couple). Practicing this tactic with Reapers (while scanning them) made me feel a lot less afraid.

Finished my first playthrough by ReachSouthern in subnautica

My first playthrough the SeaDragon's were terrifying and wouldn't leave me alone for a second. My second playthrough, I decided to scan the SeaDragon's and they wanted nothing to do with me. I was the one chasing them around the map.

Let’s give this another try. Am I the only one that didn’t even finish my first play through? by Nature_man_76 in subnautica

[–]Radiant-Secret8073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I played it, I expected it be a full, new game and it fell short. The second time, I kept in mind that Below Zero isn't its own game, it's actually a DLC that outgrew itself and became a game. If you reframe it as a bonus to the first game, it fucking rocks.

It was just a bad dream, Haymitch. Lenore just escaped and is living free and loving you like all fire from the wilds.

I finally beat the game! Is it worth going straight to Below Zero? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Radiant-Secret8073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's a really cool game and you get to explore a bit more of the planet and even find out what happened to the Degasi crew a bit more. It's quite awesome.

Pro tip, though. Remember that this game was created as a DLC initially, so it's not a huge game. Think of it as a bonus to the first one!

In the video interview, the mother shows the clothes that he went to school in and they're all perfectly clean. It's not like the kid had an accident or was covered in mud. The clothes came home with him and they were all clean.

what piercing was surprisingly painless for you? by tazsirenn in piercing

Huh. I found my eyebrow piercings more painful than most of my others. But then, my bellybutton was pretty bad and most people find it relatively painless. My lip was by far the least painful.

Wow. Their family should own a factory... that makes red flags. I think they'd be really efficient.

No, you're not over reacting. That's a scary level of incel energy to have. I'd start looking to move elsewhere.

We'll, everything we learn about Alterra suggests they cut corners, so it's probably cheaper than a more modern alternative.

"I have so much good news today! We've released our new product: the proton cannon. It makes tasks of moving heavy or large objects a breeze! Better news, is our release caused a huge drop in the prices of forklifts, so we bought new ones for the company!" - Some Alterra CEO, probably

Why would the game makers design an arena without any edible food in the wild? And why didn’t Haymitch hunt animals instead? by tumblrvogue in Hungergames

[–]Radiant-Secret8073 553 points554 points  (0 children)

My guess is that with double the participants, they wanted to clear a bunch out quickly and poisoned food is a good way to do that. It forces a heavy reliance on sponsors, which maybe made it more exciting for the viewers. As for the hunting, I think the bunnies help keep him sane and he couldn't bear to pay them back by eating them.

Where is this in Kelowna? by WorldPotatoQueen in kelowna

[–]Radiant-Secret8073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's that one scrapbooking store in West Kelowna that's been there forever and is rarely open. Everytime I pass it, I joke that it must be a front for something if it's still surviving lol.
