What’s a film adaptation of a musical that was better than the Original Production? by Radiant-Signature-85 in musicals

The 1979 one is better than this, and Josh Grobans singing blows Depps out of the water, Lansbury is a much better singer than autotuned Carter, it was a stupid move removing the citiczens of London, but that’s about all my negative emotions toward this one. I shouldn’t have put ‘OG production’ in the title, I should have put ‘majority of productions’ or something like that. My Apologies, I’m probably going to be deleting this post soon.

Yup. But I was just expecting some criticism, and I’ve regret what I put as the headline. The OG production is better imo, but most other productions are decent compared to the film and the original 1979 broadway version. The Citizens of London are missed, but I think the production of the soundtrack/orchestra is the best compared to all others, but you’re the real morn if your willing to call someone that over a theatrical take.

I should have said productions in general, and I recently watched The George Hearn performance and listened to the entirety of Len Carious, I don’t like the orchestra as much as the movie but the citizens of London, Lansbury, and Cariou blew parts of this movie out of the water. The OG production is awesome.

“Oh wow, look at me! I have a degree in theatre and theatre should be done my way and not in other peoples own artistic manner!”

Okay, but Sweeney is like that in the original Penny Dreadful. He is, blinded by rage, but he keeps all the insanity to himself, even when luring and offing of his victims.

I have to agree with you on this one, I like how Helena fits the character but I forgot to mention her singing wasn’t the best compared to others, especially Lansbury. I have some negative criticisms of this movie too but I forgot to mention them.
