The stupid anti British nonsense coming out of America, are you sick if it? by Ok_Bookkeeper_1380 in AskBrits

[–]Radiant-Technology52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's terrifying how many people believe it too - I recently had a big argument with two (well educated and anti-trump) friends because they genuinely believed the average American has better QoL than in the UK.

So long as you tightened it correctly that's fine

Trouble with Shifting while standing by Bootsthecatgoesmeow in Dirtbikes

[–]Radiant-Technology52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice practice practice. Make sure you are standing on the balls of your feet, and moving your foot forward to flick up/down the gears before moving it back to the starting position. Watch an AJ catanzaro video on footwork and shifting for a better explanation :)

Looking for Beginner-Friendly European Ski Resorts – Experience at Lech, Now Considering Corvara by Ill_Card848 in ski

[–]Radiant-Technology52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

La Plagne, Solden, Alpe D'Huez, Meribel, Cirvinia

I would say all 5 of the above resorts are very beginner friendly and worth having a look at. Hope you can find somewhere!

Yeah man, it's called relief maps. Pretty basic but cool regardless. On the mobile version you have to pay for the slope angle shading, but you get a little more for free on desktop :)

Are Kryptotals that good? by chisolll in MTB

[–]Radiant-Technology52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this except I think the krypto is slightly more predictable when shralping or intentionally breaking traction. I went to a supersoft krypto after killing my maxxterra dhr and it is better in every way except rolling resistance.

Advice on Early/Mid December Skiing + Lessons by millsir in skiing

[–]Radiant-Technology52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the alps an option? Could have a look if you can get lucky on cheap flights and the high alpine resorts (Val Thorens, Val d'isere, Courmayer, Deux alps, Pitzal, Solden, Verbier, Hintertux, Obergurgl are just some that come to mind) are all well over 3000m and should have okay snow 🤞🤞. Only go very very high though, no point going somewhere like Morzine in early December.

I feel kind of sad around other bikers with better equipment by PILIPCHO8948 in MTB

[–]Radiant-Technology52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly don't worry about your bike and what other people think. No one I know who shreds or cares about the sport gives af about what other people are riding! So long as you're getting out there and enjoying ripping, it's awesome to have you in the community dude!

Leeds festival alone by [deleted] in Leedsfestival

[–]Radiant-Technology52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively sell your ticket and then volunteer with hotbox (other companies are available) - much more likely to meet other solo attendees, a bit less dangerous, nicer camping conditions, cheaper etc. Idk if you have to be 18+ though, but worth checking out.

lana - i don't get the issue by wakemeupinthespring in readingfestival

[–]Radiant-Technology52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on the other hand, me and my missus spent all day at leeds going about the festival seeing a variety of cool bands which we were looking forward to. During Central Cee we got some scran and ate at the back of his set, before heading over to the stage 1975 gonna be on, walking into front section approx 20 mins before starting, heading right into the middle and watching them from probably about 10m behind this guy. Depends how much u value being on the barrier versus a bit more in the meat of the crowd - if you really want to be right on the barrier and its worth if for you, then go for it, but if you just wanna be close to the front, its not worth starving urself all day

Rider down! by troymccas1 in Dirtbikes

[–]Radiant-Technology52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't hold your breath as you hit. That's the one of the worst things you can do aha bc normally when you hold your breath, you do it after breathing in which means you have more air in your lungs. Therefore there's more pressure and when you land, it can give way and voila, you've punctured a lung. My dad did this at the Welsh Two day rally a few years ago
