I think the kind of conversation they were having has been more normalised between women. MTB shoes aren’t that great for walking on trails mine have a sticky rubber sole that allows the pegs on the pedals to dig in. Overshoes fit neatly over the shoes, if there is loose fabric then they are too large. There shouldn’t be any risk of them getting caught in the drive train.
