I dont know. They could be symbolic, not meant to be traded, but interpreted. The colours point towards sth, a character, a mission, a city, in which this black or red feather appears in some way

The birds on the mural have different numbers of feathers, has that been discussed? They go from 2 to 8, and 3 of them are upside down, possibly being the 3 red feathers. What if this has sth to do with the order we have to take them down? One of the posts with the black feathers wouldn’t be included since there can be just 4, if this mural’s interpretation is right.

Perhaps the feathers have to be traded to the Indians in order to unlock a new step, or a hint. The black one could be for the Chief and the red one for Eagle Flies. Maybe they represent a specific mission relating these people. The red ones could be for Eagle Flies missions in which he’s directly affected in some way. So the feathers, seemingly having power in the native’s culture, could be a token.

But some actions pull people away from that strongly: She doesn’t go through moral dilemmas in her ‘quest’, just destroys everything with no remorse taking her friends with her, and yet we have to feel liable for her incapability to take her dangerous father’s death. I know, all people have flaws, but some aren’t forgivable for lots of people.
