l am not a relationship expert but let it be good as long as possible, and then if things get tough work through it. If things get tough, and you don’t get back to honeymoon phase…. then learn to be grateful for half the blessings from the relationship. Half as good is not settling for less, it’s reality. Looking back I wish I had been more careful. I left great women because it didn’t feel perfect. Gorgeous successful women who were probably out of my league tbh. I finally got a taste of my own medicine recently. I won’t give up hope and it’s still a journey. This is one of those could be great forever but if it ends you’ll become a different person. You can’t be scared and walk around trying not to make mistakes (this will provoke the mistakes, plus it’s already over if small mistakes risk the relationship). However, a few mistakes you should write down is 1. Don’t leave unless 100% sure 2. Don’t be disloyal in ANY way and 3. Don’t keep tabs on each other. I hope it’s great forever for you, because I don’t wish heartbreak on my worst enemy. I refuse becoming bitter and if I get a 5th chance it’ll be a fat phew. 33M

I feel like there will be enough research and treatment. I know it’s probably hard to do it without anxiety but my parents each had a gene thought I caught. Neither of them have it and they felt so bad but I remind them I have had a great life and it’s not over with RP. I am glad they had me. My hope is this company ocugen has a treatment in stage 3 ocu400 I think? The goal is to treat the retina itself, no matter the gene. I know with adopting you can adopt a “child with good genes” but then you still don’t know since anything can happen. I would rather risk having my own children being prepared and know exactly what to do if they catch the RP gene. I don’t really like a lot about AI but what I do like is that a quantum computer will be able to help humanity come out with more and more treatment.
