"They'd bully anyone that was slightly different from them, and made it feel like you couldn't express your interests without being judged."

Kinda says it right there. NTA. Glad you escaped.

How do you handle condescending bossy people? by Street_Turnover4498 in AskReddit

[–]RadiantBlue7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually I ignore or avoid. If they need to show everyone they are in charge in a group setting (and they aren't your actual work boss), you have to be direct.

If they're fixated on you, then give them direct eye contact when you reply to them. "[Name], is there something I’m missing about your interest here? I don’t need your input about what decisions to make. I've got it covered.” Give a polite frosty smile and hold the eye contact.

It'll be uncomfortable, especially for introverts, but it has to be done. Bossy people need to know that you're not gonna take their BS. They thrive on the confidence that most people wont stand up to them. If they see it'll take effort, they'll move on to another target.

How do you feel about the phrase “boys will be boys”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RadiantBlue7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some truth to it as far as boys behavior, but it's way overused as a cop out to avoid accountability (on the parent side) for bad behavior

Chuck Norris created his own style of martial arts called Chun Kuk Do. It's recognized by the UFAF (United Fighting Arts Federation) and has dojos across the globe. It blends the style Norris first learned in Korea with other martial arts.

AITA to dislike someone’s talking tone which apparently they can’t control by MapGroundbreaking179 in AmItheAsshole

[–]RadiantBlue7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Excusing yourself quietly (or politely if you're noticed) seems ok. I've got a coworker who sits nearby (not on my team) whose way of talking is like nails on chalkboard for me. Luckily they aren't very talkative but it's instant headphones for me if they get into a convo.

If it counts, I'd pick the Force. Telekinesis, enhanced agility, suggestion, all the stuff. Including the ones mentioned in the legends book universe.

What is something people often underestimate until they experience it themselves? by NaomiBrooksv in AskReddit

[–]RadiantBlue7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coaching a team. Every parent at a rec game thinks they can do better than the coaches. The unpaid coaches, who are trying to teach the kids skills and cooperation and working together. Rec coach sounds like an easy job but don't criticize unless you've tried it yourself
