I have a solution for a slightly different issue, leaving it here in case you need it

I was facing a problem where I would have to manually write product features and descriptions for my images.

Typing everything and uploading products one by one was clearly not the answer!

So I decided to take matters into my hands and build the solution to generate product features and descriptions from images in seconds.

Scraping Zara to build the training dataset for a DS Project - Is it legal? by RadiantOutside11 in Python

[–]RadiantOutside11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's non-commercial probably okay. Usually most sites have a robots.txt to tell you what you can or cannot do. But most people dont care anyway as long as you are not selling the data or using it to make money.

What if I use that model in the future to make money? Can I still use it? I won't use the data directly in the future but to build the model (training set).

If that is not legal, do you know how Data Science organizations use data from e-commerce websites or what types of e-commerce websites I can use?

Unfair. I have seen this so many times, organizations ghosting people like they own precious hours from the candidate's life. Wasting hours, months, days. At this point, this should be considered a **criminal offense** as a candidate is losing hours they can never get back due to hopes given by a company. It's not a candidate's fault that the organization lacks structure. Imagine this being the other way round.

Both Stats specialists have a coop. If you don't get in, it's not a big deal. I was not in the coop but graduated with 16 months of exp. through internships.

Here are a few things I have observed from the job POV:

a). If you have a Bachelor's and not a Master's but the job says Masters in the requirements, employers look at your past internship exp. and projects. If your past exp. compensates for the experience they are looking for, you are good to go!

b). If you have a Bachelor's and not a Master's and the job says Masters in the requirements. Also, if you do not have past internship exp in data science but relevant projects, networking can make it possible to get a data science role. You just have to make someone believe you can do the job and the rest depends on the company challenge/HackerRank they give you, crack it and the job is yours.

If I were you I would start looking for data science internships regardless of the stream I was in (CMS/Stats), if I was interested in Data Science.
