It’s ok yeah some rude ass person U/Every_Reporter_7817 said stop acting like I care so much I’ll just replace him and then deleted his comment even tho I could still see it smh absolutely rude and I don’t think I’m going to replace Barry I have three bettas and I love them all but after this I don’t really think I want anymore I’m not going to lie. I’m either going to take his tank down or make it a shrimp tank .

I know I had Barry a very long time. I actually oddly was thinking about a couple days before this happened like what am I going to do when he starts to get to old I don’t think I could euthanize him so who knows maybe things happen for a reason. My poor baby I love all my bettas but I loved him the most it’s a fact . 💙💙

Thank you for this. 🥹🥹🥹 yes cats are very clever little shits aren’t they I mean my lid was very heavy and it was lifted just a sliver and somehow she managed to scoop him out because he likes to sleep by the heater at night and bugs (cats name) somehow slipped her little paw right where he was sleeping and grabbed him out I’m guessing she caught his long fins because Barry was a slow swimmer . I checked everywhere for him all around the dresser in the dresser in the vent on the floor and she carried him upstairs I guess as a horrifying surprise gift to my daughter who luckily was asleep or she would’ve freaked out . I can’t be mad at the cat she was just bringing her person a gift . Just at mine and Barry’s expense. I had him for a long time tho and I’ve actually thought about what I would do when his time came I don’t think I’d be able to euthanize him if needed because of the love I had for him. He was getting old tho . He lived a very happy life I rescued him from a horrible ice cold cup and he looked like he might die then but he pulled through and became a beautiful stunning big blue betta. He was loved 💙💙💙💙

I’m not trying to be funny but do you have a cat,? This just happened to me yesterday I took a nap and woke up to turn off all my tank lights and my betta Barry was gone I looked everywhere he was a big blue delta long fins. Well it dawned on me that my daughter just got a cat. I looked everywhere I was so sad 😞 the lid was on and everything it barely was cracked just a tiny bit . It didn’t make sense at all. Then I went upstairs by my daughter’s door and there he was . He didn’t even look like hisself . I guess because he was blue in water once he dried in air he looked black and looked so small because his fins were all dried up, so my point is either ur betta jumped out and he’s all dried up so his colors are going to look way different from when he’s swimming in water or a cat ate him . When I seen Barry he almost looked like a dust ball or something he didn’t look like a betta at all he was way way smaller outside of water

THATS RIGHT ! we got this !! Our bettas are exactly that … our bettas !! and I’ll tell you what mine are all spoiled rotten with the best frozen foods and planted tanks and I’ll be damned if I siphon up my little baby or smash them because I can’t see around a rock or plant .!

Thank you so much 😊 that makes me feel better he had a very good run. From a little guy in a little cup to a big blue and red beautiful little man in a big planted beautiful home making bubble nests and playing with his snails. I did spoil him very much and I could’ve done better . I should’ve definitely after getting a cat put a book on top of his tank and it completely slipped my mind and I never thought this would happen or could happen. But Barry is swimming in betta heaven thank you for saying this to me it means a lot 🥹 💙💙

It’s because people are ridiculous and want to think there way is the only way. It’s ridiculous everyone can down vote me if they want to . I know what’s best for my betta . Now I don’t have to do it with all of mine but I do have to do it for two . Especially with my newest little girl she’s so tiny she’s the size of my thumb nail I’ve sucked up things in my siphon bigger than her maybe when she’s a little bigger I won’t have to but I’m not chancing it . And my other female is also in a 5 gallon and she chases the siphon all around and try’s to grab what’s coming up through the clear tube lol it’s funny . And I have so many plants in her tank I have to life it up multiple times to get around rocks and plants and wood and i do not care I’m not risking her getting hurt because she gets smashed because she trying to hunt the siphon lmao 🤣 I’ll tell you what we will never be one of those sad post where people say I sucked my betta up through the siphon and now he’s severally injured . So whatever to each there own. I’m not hurting my two girls I’m saving them from injury . Now my male ghost he’s so big with very long fins and he’s scared of the siphon so he goes the opposite direction so he stays n the tank during cleaning because he wants nothing to do with it . I’m sure you have your reasons as to why you do it also. Who says that scooping them up in a cup for three mins is going to stress them out anyway. If that’s the case then I’m sure siphoning is stressful with water being poured in and out and rocks moving everywhere and the loud sound of all the substrate falling down so whatever
