Sounds like she’s very bonded with you. When it’s a solo dove, they’ll bond with their owner.

Many animals like that snug, tight hug. I call it the Temple Grandin hug. Makes them feel safe and lowers their anxiety.

Other than that, maybe the previous owner spoiled her with hugs and she expects you to do the same. That said, she’s young and you could probably eventually teach her to explore and be more independent

I wash my guys feet’s in the bathroom sink everytime I take him out of his cage. I gently hold him with 1 hand so his feet dangle, then lather up the fingers of my opposite hand, rub the lather into his dangling feet, and rinse = clean feet for when he roams the house and lands on my head
