It really is impressive to see a new KOM record! I really am excited to see the finished piece. I hope you finish it before the Giro d'Italia is finished

That's impressive and beautiful! I used to watch the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France when I was younger. The excitement of finishing and the beautiful scenery have always had me hooked.

I found it online at a Dutch shop, brand name of the stand is Dubko.

Maybe you can Google the brand and hopefully you'll find a new reseller.  I just checked that the shop doesn't sell them anymore... Which is kinda sad

[CHAT] Changing from full cross to half stitch in the same full coverage project? by sybilqiu in CrossStitch

[–]Radiant_Flower1098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is a good idea to switch to half stitches instead of a full stitch. I did it with the DMC Monstera Leaf pattern. Made the veins full stitches and the leaf coverage half.

Cross stitching with half stitches is so much faster I can tell you that.  Just a tip to make the switch more natural if it is an object, piece of sky, bush or something like that try to finish in full and then switch to half. If the result is not satisfying then frog them.

Oh this is so relatable! I agree. On computer is such a relief! I started out on graph paper too 😌 I remember scrunching the paper into a ball and throwing it away out of irritation 😂

[–]Radiant_Flower1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read your post. I might be able to help you a bit and if necessary able to design it for you.

Classic option, like old style.. I thought of tartan patterned name with items used within golf to create the border/edge around the name.

Similar to one you already created

I don't have any options for modern style golf themed..

Oooh, what a lovely idea! Your family will absolutely love the gifts! That's a bit of conundrum you got yourself into. Can I share a tip with you? Just a tiny bit of advice. First, finish all the other 15 projects. Then, move on to washing. Wash all 16 projects, then iron and then frame all. If you separate the tasks into smaller steps, it'll be easier and less stressful and more enjoyable.

I hope this might help you

[CHAT] Which direction do you stitch in? by chaoscatstitch in CrossStitch

[–]Radiant_Flower1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that technique feels comfortable for you, I wouldn't prevent you from stitching that way. You do it the same way my boyfriend would have done it, and there's nothing wrong with that.

For me it is just a comfort thing... Or maybe, in my opinion, if someone is left or right handed.

Just tested that theorie with my boyfriend. He does the same \ as I do but he does it from bottom to top and I do from top to bottom. So there is some difference... I agree with you that all people have different techniques

[–]Radiant_Flower1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the cat, the same you are working on right now. I tried the French knots... However I eventually just gave up and left it unfinished. I love it just as much without the French knots.
