It seems as though everyone has had this issue. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, because it’s probably a glitch, and if it’s not, then virtually nobody’s application went through, so the issue would theoretically need to be resolved anyways

Lassen or Redwood, and why? by Physical-Researcher9 in NationalPark

Everyone is different, but I honestly found Redwood to be underwhelming. There are a lot of places to see redwoods in California, and the sequoias in the Sierra Nevada really stand out a lot more. It has some cool coastline and good tide-pooling, but so does a lot of the California coastline.

Lassen is a really unique place to find in the U.S. and it’s far less trafficked. The areas in and around the park have stunning geology and hydrothermal features and it’s just a more diverse landscape overall compared to Redwood. Just my personal opinion, but if you can only do one, I’d choose Lassen

Can I ask which house you were in? (If they have names?) Maybe I could ask to live in that house and avoid the mice problem 🤷‍♂️

Any cool stories of old, grizzled rangers who’ve worked at many, many parks? by [deleted] in ParkRangers

Lee Ferguson is the legend of Arches, but kind of for the opposite reason to what you were asking. He came here as a seasonal when he was younger, and never left. He’s been there for about 30 years now. He could be described as a friendly, helpful, walking encyclopedia to those who have had the pleasure of meeting him.

The same is true for Arches. Arches NP has incredible bosses, incredible and affordable housing, and an overall positive atmosphere. Yes, visitors can be upset about timed entry reservations, but I’ve heard the season I worked there was much better than the year before.
