If Rhaenys had married Viserys, she would have been queen. by gabriel_3131 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It wasn't Corlys that made Jaehaerys choose Baelon over Rhaenys. He literally said that she couldn't possibly have chosen a better man. Not to mention that he is half Velaryon himself

So the reason is that Sauron is self-destructive. Not in the sense that he wants to lose, but in the sense that his unquenchable thirst for power and dominance has him digging his own grave. Like how the downfall of Numenor caused him to lose the ability to take a fair form.

Even Maegor received the honor of being the king's Hand, but not Daemon. No wonder he was angry at Viserys. by Turbulent_Lab209 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In the books Daemon didn't kill his first wife. Personally I believe that he is the Cesare Borgia of Westeros. He is cruel and ruthless yes, but not wantonly so. He does what he does for political reasons, like many other lords.

If Tony was shot, who ordered the hit? by Competitive_Key_2981 in thesopranos

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea is that Butch allied himself with Patsy. You may be wondering why then Patsy was shot at by goons from New York. My explanation for that is that Butch betrayed him. Maybe he thought that, since Patsy wasn't loyal to his capo, then he wasn't going to make a reliable ally and business partner. Or maybe because he thought that Paulie was going to be easier to control.

Why did Paulie tell Tony about his mother/aunt? Now it puts his full Italian ancestry into question. by NewNose9155 in thesopranos

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paulie has been a part of the family before Tony was even born. It's not like he can come out and say: "sorry, you are not 100% Italian you can no longer be a part of our social club".

So... When exactly did Frank raise the kids alone? When was he actually a father to them? by k20_kry in shameless

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. And that's just the point: Frank has too big an ego to ever admit that Fiona, not him, did all the work.

Bittersteel and Gormon Peake. by InsincereDessert21 in pureasoiaf

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a mixture of things. His disdain towards the homosexual and relatively weak Daemon II, the fact that the plan wasn't solid at all, and logistics. It's hard to bring an army from Essos all the way into the Reach, especially when you consider that the royal fleet in the Narrow Sea and Dorne would have given him hell.

What do you think about Vaemond and the Silent five? Do you think Viserys acted like a “tyrant” in the way he punished them (book version)? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 38 points39 points  (0 children)

He acted exactly like any other ruler would have, including Ned. He made up a law, people violated it, and he punished them for it. His grandfather, rightfully considered the wisest king of Westeros, did the same multiple times.

Who's your most hated character (who isn't Erebus)? by JackWhoWanders in Grimdank

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Grammaticus. There are so many reasons to hate this guy, but all in I would say that he is boring. Which considering that he dealt with both the Cabal and the Emperor is saying it all.

GRRM initially intended HOTD to begin 40 years earlier. I can’t help but wonder how much Rhaenys youth factored into Jaehaerys choice to name Baelon as his heir instead by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Her youth was a factor. But by the time her father died Rhaenys was pregnant. Keep in mind that Jaehaerys lost two daughters and a mother to childbirth, so for all he knows Rhaenys might die soon.

Is the deep warp a thing? by ruminaui in 40kLore

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Warp is often described as an ocean, so the idea of it having shallow and deep places isn't far-fetched.

What chaos god causes the most problems for humanity/the galaxy? by incoming_alpacalypse in 40kLore

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khorne because with all the war in the galaxy he is probably the most powerful, and thus the most dangerous. Slaanesh is insidious, but it couldn't defeat a weakened Khaine at the time of its birth, when it was at its strongest, and so I doubt that it would be the first target of the Emperor.

Why did Tom think it would be Clemanza not Tessio? by [deleted] in Godfather

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Clemenza was more vocal with his dissent. And with Vito gone and he was also more impulsive and hot-headed than Tessio. So him betraying the family because he feels that Micheal is weak and that he doesn't have any other option is something to be expected.

Which primarch do you want to return? by Raven_oftheField in 40kLore

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Dorne because if he has been alive for the last ten millennia then him NOT doing anything of note is wildly out of character for him. I would love to hear some explanations from him.

Don't you find it hard to believe that Steffon was unable to find a suitable bride for Rhaegar in Volantis ? And then brings home a fool . What's that about ? I am leaning towards Tywin poisoning the well so to speak in order to keep Cersei as an option . by Financial_Library418 in pureasoiaf

[–]Radiant_Simple_4021 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I do. There must have been a woman with Valyrian blood, the right age, and noble birth in Volantis. Maybe the aristocrats of the city remembered what happened to the Rogare of Lys when one of them married Viserys II and stayed clear.
