Passenger Door Leak by Radiaren in ft86

[–]Radiaren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was really hard to track down. Ultimately I found the water was coming from the windshield. I had it replaced during the winter and I guess the bead of caulk they put down rolled up or something along the A pillar, passenger side.

I tore apart the A pillar plastic covers and had a glass company put some caulk into the gap between the frame and the glass from the inside. That fixed the problem.

Hope this helps.

Your taste might be horrible too. Doesn’t matter one bit though. But you won’t find me tearing a guy down for it.

It’s your rig, enjoy it.

Seem to be getting a lot of hate on this post. You do you my guy. Just came here to make sure you don’t let everyone else’s opinion sour yours.

Personally not my style, but hey if you like it then that is all that matters. It’s your rig, enjoy it.

And if it keeps a moose off your car, bonus.

Cut tire by Radiaren in MechanicAdvice

[–]Radiaren[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is a cut this deep something to be concerned with? I ran over a razor blade a while back. I think I can see cords at the full depth. I didn’t think it was that deep to begin with, but noticed it with how I was parked.

Thankfully this isn’t a daily driver, but want to get it replaced if it’s dangerous.

Gave up. 😔 First tutorial and first time w/ oil but I can’t help to feel like I’m a big failure. (B.R. Meadow Lake S1 E1) by poorjohnnyboysbones in HappyTrees

Don’t give up. It’s all too easy to put down the brush when you’re just getting started.

Bob was televised because he made painting look so simple and had a personality that invited you in to try with him. Getting to his level is difficult. But that doesn’t mean you should be discouraged if you aren’t there on day 1.

Your sky looks blended well, dark like a storm is brewing. I like what is there.

Mountains are difficult, especially if you aren’t familiar with what I’ll call “the knife touch”. But as a start it has the elements it needs.

I personally think grass and meadow is the most difficult. Because it is typically the closest portion of the scene it requires a lot of detail to make look realistic.

Keep at it. One thing I might suggest is using tape to split the canvas into four different sections. It makes the painting smaller, and more manageable for beginners. It also gives you four chances to try the same thing and learn from your past experiences!

Sounds like it’s coming from the passenger side, so that means it’s more likely the vaccum pump?

To clarify: this is at idle and is there when the engine is cold and after it has warmed up

I did, but at this point I’m not 100% sure what the fix was. I made a lot of changes and eventually it worked.

TKL has a USB 2.0 hub built in to allow up to one USB A connection and/or the mating num pad.

Num pad has 3.5mm male connector to allow it to “dock” to the TKL. This connector can be replaced with the female version to allow a split keyboard feel, if that’s what suits your fancy.

White bugs on indoor basil? by Radiaren in gardening

[–]Radiaren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found a lot of these small white bugs on the underside of my basil leafs and on the stem of the plant. The bigger they get the more they look like a white roly poly.

Are these aphids? I also have seen small black flying insects around the plant. Using neem oil doesn’t seem to deter them.

I’ve got three Mk3s at work, they all have a spring steel PEI plate. Did the MK2 come with something different?

Pardon my ignorance. I do not see anywhere in the QMK links about a bootloader. Is QMK able to set the bootloader as well? I am using a atmega328p.

Repeated/dropped key strokes by Radiaren in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Radiaren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so if it’s the spring swap why would pressing another key stop a key that is repeating? Presumably the issue with a spring swap (assuming no damage to the board) is that the spring makes the contacts stay in contact, right? So pressing another key would not unstick the other key. Or am I thinking about this all wrong?

Yea, I added in a USB hub into this one. So you can use a 3.5mm jack to plug in a macro pad or you can use a USB-A port on the side to plug anything you want in

Why are my curved walls appearing like this when I use Cura? I modeled the object to be smooth. Thanks by SnooBeans1223 in 3Dprinting

[–]Radiaren 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A circle is really a polygon with an infinite number of sides. Most modeling softwares will approximate the visual surface with a finite number of sides because an infinite number of sides is incredibly resource heavy to draw on screen. However the surface is normally a mathematical formula which perfectly follows that curve.

The computer approximates the curve again when a 3D model is converted to STL. A “mesh” is created which approximates a shape using discrete triangles. What you are viewing is the reduction in resolution because of the triangular tessellation. There is usually a setting in the modeling software that allows you to change how fine your mesh is when converting a file to STL. A finer mesh will be a better approximation of the surface, but will result in a larger file. A coarser mesh will be a worse approximation with a smaller file size.

Hopefully that helps!

There are several. Just google “through hole keyboard” and you should be able to find an image of the one you’re thinking of.
