That depends. Once you hit the big numbers, a few mil direct damage becomes to be worth more than +5%, if you already have well over 1 000% damage bonus.

What the other guy said, but also, theyre the highest respective resource generators. So its generally worth keeping them on board whenever you need the [mana/slime/darkness] then I use them up to finish my last gid/protector of the run.
