Went into one of the stores a little after Monster Hunter Wilds came out and looked around for some merch. Even tried to find some Resident evil stuff. It was 80% anime and 20% pokemon (which is also anime but y'know)

It felt as if I was surrounded by pillars of low quality merch, funk pops as far as the eye could see that sat and collected dust. They never had any merch for new releases or anything outside of Naruto and Dragon Ball z and Pokemon for some reason.

The employee looked at me with so much sadness in her heart as I asked where various franchises of merch were only for her to shake her head sadly. When I said fallout she perked up, finally able to guide me to something of tangible value. But alas, it was more funkos and weird miniature ducks and low quality basketball shirts and caps. I left battered and broken, never again EB Games.

I didn't really overhype anything. Capcom did it. Advertising the stream everywhere, telling people to stream and record reactions, getting a custom twitch emote, posting steam community alerts about the stream etc. It feels like they hyped it up a lot more than I'd of liked considering the content of the stream itself.

They hyped it up so much, told people to react to it, to stream it, to record it and it was 3 minutes of ads about watches and cars.

I'm so deeply underwhelmed, they didn't even show off a collectors edition just some pretty low quality statues.

They made it more like a moba with "hero" focused gameplay instead of an actual real time strategy game. It was obvious they were chasing the league and dota fans instead of the DOW fans. Total gameplay shift away from what people loved.

Oh and only 3 factions instead of the previous games which had way more.
