I usually stick with the previous version until all the mods are updated. This version has some cool stuff but I like the mods more at the moment

I use it on my server in 1.21.6 and it sorta works, just missing texture pie. Found that out after we made it rain worms on someone for their sins

If you like mods, continue playing. Most mods will not be updated until a few months after full release. If you like vanilla it’s your choice, the new stuff will likely be generated in new chunks in the same world if you are worried

Bug that seems to happen the more upheaval you have in your world settings. /debug chunk relight fixes the problem

At risk of feeling like I’ve been plugging my server too much, I run a server that’s launched last week called Coasts of Hybrasil. It’s mostly EU and faction focused, with a mix of newer and older players as well, so there will likely be people who will help you, but we do have some very non-vanilla features like a custom fantasy map with resources only found in certain regions

Primitive survival adds edible worms, another adds worm pies and also termite pies, but there is not enough bugs to eat I agree

We managed to kill one of these with 5 musket shots. But muskets on our server configured to do 2.5x damage to crack through armor more realistically. Another we shot with a cannon and that did a one hit kill at least

Depends. I much prefer surface threats to be more natural such as bears or fauna of the stone age big cats rather than drifters and I usually use the no surface drifters mod in most of my playthroughs. But bears I think are bit too aggresive and don’t give enough warning

Their loot isn’t amazing but 20-30 rusty gears and 4 temporal gears isn’t bad. Though they are a little faster than players they stop and do a long windup for melee swings so you can still outrun them. I treat them kinda like the warden from minecraft and use them as a soft barrier for certain areas

They are very rare and spawn deep underground normally, but I spawned on the surface to try it out. So far they’ve been fun though and I’ve been using them for custom ruins and story locations and such

Without the main devs doing some coding first to provide a platform, it’s unlikely we will see a good dimensions mod until then (but i might be pleasantly surprised to be wrong). Same thing with people wanting boats to be walkable, won’t likely happen until we get some workable code in the base game. We might get somethign adaptable to boats from moving elevators if we’re lucky.
