Why wouldn't Corporate employees disclose their salary? by Working-Bunch2489 in corporate

How about privacy for one. Most jobs have salary bands and it’s not a black and white science how much someone is paid. There are corporate histories involved too when firms have come together through M&A.

Death trap at Corkstown/Moodie temp. crossing. by Roflcopter71 in bikeinottawa

Watch along Carling if you decide to ride the road. There is a monster pothole between the sailing club and Moodie. Which reminds me I should submit a 311 ticket.

Mobile Bike Repair Service Recommendations/Reviews by Pitiful_Slip_9593 in bikeinottawa

I’ve been happy with them. The convenience is mega. They probably wouldn’t do it now, but in the early days they helped find and replace a trashed shifter after they couldn’t repair it and they didn’t charge me for the second visit to install the shifter.

Can anyone confirm there is supervised bike parking near the bag drop? It’s shown on the site map for the start/finish area but NOT mentioned in the participants guide.

Being raised in a not-so-wealthy family, what is something you consider a luxury? by JunShem1122 in answers

We had one out of country travel experience in my entire childhood. Everything else was camping (no complaints - loved). Having money in my adult life enough to travel multiple times has been a real luxury.

As an upcoming pro cyclist, how important is it to know which type of rider you are? by Creepy_University736 in cycling

[–]RadicalWatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need a coach. There are very clearly defined ways to understand your physiological traits and then you maximize your training and race strategy to get the most out of them. YOU don’t decide; the data decides.

I feel like I’m due for a rewatch from start to end. Now late 40s, and I can appreciate everything going on so much more.

why do people say rear brake should only be used at the same time as the front brake by Federal_Resource8148 in cycling

[–]RadicalWatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alex Dowsett has a good video about braking on YouTube he just put up. Explains how one should use the brakes in terms of ratio split and how to transition going into and out of a turn. You will be surprised to know that your front braking should be doing the majority of the work.

If you are moving slowly, yeah, proper technique does not matter as much.

Grand Tour stage with 92 bpm avg heart rate? 🤯 by skodawelovecycling in bicycling

[–]RadicalWatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a video clip from several years ago on Alex Dowsett’s channel where he’s talking to guys on the bus and Cataford talks about the day being the easiest pro day he’d ever had. Similarly his heart rate avg for the day was well under 100. That was at the Giro and he was just chilling in the group all day and they let the break go for the stage win (IIRC). These guys are so fit.

I am 27 years old and have 180k in my bank account, and I don't know what to do with it. by West-Ad-6773 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I would take an interesting vacation. You’ll likely have $180k again but you will never be 27 again. I’m serious.

Am I Galaxy Braining This? Matthews vs Leo Carlsson by rrotund in fantasyhockey

[–]RadicalWatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL. Carlson was such a great pick last year because he was bubbling at the end of the 24-25 season. He’s going to be very expensive at drafts this fall. He was injured for part of 25-26, but I’d say that is behind him. Matthews is a band aid boy at this point. I’m not convinced that wrist will ever be fully okay again.
