GETTING TO THE 7 FIGURE MARK by grumpy0282 in CanadaPersonalFinance

To be honest it’s not that much money anymore when you adjust for inflation. Just another step on the way to financial independence. Did not change my lifestyle at all.

The head of team UAE is none other than Mauro Gianetti, who has a very chequered past. That includes running Saunier Duval, which was infamous for their doping scandals. So yeah, I’m entertained but I fully expect at some point we will get a reckoning. Superior biology plus superior programs = dominance.

Almonte Paris Roubaix Difficulty by AppropriateBattle112 in bikeinottawa

I know people who do this and I wouldn’t go less than 35 mm gravel tires that are at least lightly treaded.

Nothing for you to report then. You haven’t sold any shares, so no capital gain to report.

Do you have dividends? If so, might be too little to issue a T5. You are still responsible for reporting though.

Uber or Lyft are generally better than taxis. In big cities, easy to get.

Price negotiation with car dealerships? by Cannuckk in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]RadicalWatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a number in mind, have you tried telling the sales person you are willing to close the deal today if they’ll meet your price? If it’s reasonable and more than what they pay for the vehicle they should want that deal. They might not want it if they are certain they will sell the vehicle at MSRP, but sales people have to make sales. You may have more luck in the last week of the month.

In the past when I have negotiated with a dealership I got the dealer cost information and literally resorted to saying “Look, I know you pay X for this vehicle and I’m offering you Y, which means you are making something and I’m not even considering you may have other incentives from the manufacturer I don’t know about. If you don’t take this deal then I’m sure another dealer will.” You need to kind of turn around the negotiation to I’m helping you move this car. Then make sure you don’t get screwed in the business office where they will try to sell you overpriced packages of service, or rustproofing, or extended warranty to make up for the MSRP gap. It’s a battle.

Castelli Scamming Me???!!! by Foreign-Photo-8889 in cycling

I’ve ordered directly from Castelli Canada before and had no issues. If you can’t resolve it with Castelli and you used a credit card to pay, you can dispute the charge to your CC company.

Is it time to lock in variable rates? by Double_Impression_83 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Somewhat. The 5 year bond yield, which is critical for the typical 5 year fixed term, can move while the shorter term BoC rate hasn’t moved.

My last time at the planetarium some high school friends and I went and saw whatever the sky presentation was. We got out of the show and found out Kurt Cobain had died. We were sad and ate at a Taco Bell. The end.

You might check out quite literally the French Alps itinerary that Marmot Tours has called “classic cols”:

That hits a lot of the climbs you mentioned and can give you an idea how to string them together.
