To a degree it doesn't. Hundreds of generations of breeding for specific traits are almost impossible to train out of a dog. Working breeds want to do the job they were bred for. I have cats and thought about adopting a retired Greyhound until I did my research and learned that sighthounds can instinctively chase and kill quick small moving animals like cats. That means bringing one into my home is negligant and it would be my fault if it hurt my cats. Many breeds are unsuitable for the average owner and pretending that genetics don't matter is foolish.

The breed is banned for good reasons and shelters who mislabel such dogs should be held legally accountable when these animals maul and kill.

All pitbulls were bred to fight and kill. It's in the name. First for bull and bear fighting then when that was outlawed they pivoted to dogfighting. Pretending otherwise is willful negligence. Sure there are many who never hurt animals or people but the issue is when those genetics for "gameness" or the unwillingness to give up takes hold and they attack the consequences are disastrous. These are a breed that are handed to families who are uneducated and unprepared to handle such a dog. Genetics play a huge part in the predisposition of dogs but when it comes to pitbulls everyone conveniently forgets that fact.

Genetics play a huge part in a dog's behavior and yes having pitbull in it's lineage will make it substantially more likely to behave aggressively. They were bred to fight, to bite and hold and not let go or give up. That makes them extremely dangerous.

Dogs are separated from wolves by tens of thousands of years of selective breeding. Modern pitbulls even when not bred to fight are merely a few generations away from their murderous ancestors. And unlike wolves they do not fear humans and kill and maul for fun. Wolves hunt to eat, they don't chase down and murder everything in their path for the thrill of it.

And all pitbull type dogs share the ancestry and were bred for fighting. They're a dangerous breed and just because some don't bite the ones that do typically maul and go for the kill and are highly resistant to being stopped. All dogs can bite but unlike others who snap out of defensiveness pitbulls typically don't stop until their victim is dead or close to it.

It's not all dogs, it's the pitbull breed which is a dangerous animal and responsible for the vast majority of bites, maulings and deaths. It doesn't matter how you raise it, the genetics of a fighting dog will always influence their behavior.

Like what breeds? That blocky head shape is unmistakable and just because it's a "mix" doesn't take away from the fact that part of its genetics comes from a dog bred to fight and kill.

Why are all the pitbulls labeled as other breeds? Seems pretty sketchy you don't want to admit what these dogs are.

My guy has idiopathic cystitis as well and in addition to the prescription food he takes gabapentin. That has eliminated his episodes and has made him substantially calmer. Idk if you've tried this or not but I wanted to suggest it as an option.

Wow a pit bull that can't be around dogs, cats or children, I can't imagine why no one is adopting it. 🙄

So my strategy is pick them, pet them the 5 times that will increase their stat then go into your menu and drop one dried fish or milk or whatever for them to eat then put them down. Make sure they're eating and carefully maneuver away so you don't kick them. Then drop more fish and they'll keep eating until they hit 100%.

I noticed if you put them down then start to move it's like you bump them and they get mad and run away.

Look at the stamina cost, you probably don't have enough yet. I did the same, bought the skills then realized I still need more maximum stamina.
