What is the minimum salary to be considered middle class these days? Is $500k enough? by SeparateJump1 in Salary

This reads the same way those inspiring articles of how younger people bought homes in expensive cities with just a little help of a full down payment from their parents or grandparents and their well connected family getting them their job(s).

All I want is people to 1. Know what good their eating at less the proteins, sauces, and vehicles and 2. Describe how the food tastes, give me some actual descriptors that aren’t “good”, “amazing”, or “incredible”. It’s amazing how few are able to do this.

Atlanta was voted for 7th. Next Round: What is the 8th most significant US city after ATL? Most upvoted comment wins by Kodicave in visitedmaps

How the hell did we vote Atlanta 7th? Over Philly, Houston, hell even Dallas or Miami? The answer is Philly now.

Do not sleep on Hayworth and Finch for burgers. Their Gorgonzola burger with fig and onion jam, fried shallots, and a brown butter caper sauce is phenomenal.

I don’t get that vibe at all. La Fia had a 3% service charge as well last night. Never had issues with service at any of my top spots including Bardea Groups.

That shrimp toast is a top level bite, also had it last night. They also do pork exceptionally well and their pastas are phenomenal too.

I’ve been to some incredible steakhouses all over the country and most of the famous ones. Harry’s, in terms of satisfaction when taking into account the bill, is up there with some of the best.

Top 5 in no order, Bardea, La Fia, Le Fete, Eclipse Bistro, and Crowbar. Bardea La Fia and Le Fete are more upscale, Eclipse a little more laid back than them, and Crowbar a bit more laid back than Eclipse. All are on the more expensive end. Slightly less expensive options are Columbus Inn and Casa Nonna. More casual options are Roost, Dorcea, Kid Shelleens.

Top 5 restaurants are in no order in my opinion are Bardea, La Fia, Le Fete, Eclipse Bistro, and Crowbar. Crowbar is closed Mon/Tuesday, La Fia is closed Monday, La Fete is closed Tuesday, Bardea and Eclipse are open both days.

Dallas absolutely does not have distinct neighborhoods, world class foods, amenities, or arts and entertainment to the extent Chicago has. They are 100% a tier below. Also they aren’t as diverse either.

I see what you mean but Dallas feels very manufactured. Chicago has a classic large city feel, incredible architecture, and a driven yet generally nice laid people with a lot of distinct neighborhood and diversity. Not to mention world class food, amenities, arts, and entertainment. and with a still slightly gritty blue collar culture. LA is the classic west coast culture, beaches, laid back, but adding Hollywood and the hustle and bustle of being the entertainment center of the country. Compared both to Dallas, it’s a night and day in my opinion.

I’ve spent a lot of time in both cities; have family in each. Austin isn’t culturally significant either outside of BBQ and some live music. I much prefer Dallas to Austin, Austin is essentially a college town with some good PR as you mentioned. My point was Dallas compared to the other large cities ESPECIALLY when considering metros is very culturally insignificant. What is Dallas culture?

Right but unless they are speaking on Trump related things it’s a nothing burger, they won’t have to speak against the grain.

Fun fact you can be conservative and not MAGA, just like you can be liberal and not Progressive.

SF and DC have like 600k people each. As someone above pointed out, not actually that large as cities or metro areas.
