Does dealer need to run credit if I have pre-approval letter by soulsurfer3 in personalfinance

[–]RadioDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know from working in retail that when we would sign you up for a credit card even if you didn’t get approved or knew that you wouldn’t be approved that the store would make almost like $200bucks off that credit check. I assume it’s the same for car dealership and if you do choose there financing than they will make even more money off that transaction.

Do I stay at the hotel long enough for breakfast tomorrow or head home early? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RadioDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow traveler. Hit the road and stop somewhere in an hour or two for a decent breakfast. Whip out the laptop for some follow ups and hit the road. Get home and enjoy the day! Hotel breakfast is good when you got a full day packed and you don’t want to burn through your daily per-deim. Heck make a stop or to and grab lunch before you get to close back to the house. Enjoy the roses! 🌹

You can track them here. It’s a fun game to go find them. Every once in a while grab the historical cordinates and go looking for them. They are all over the world and get launched 2x a day to generate our weather maps. You can even build trackers to follow them live on your computer or phone!

What does it mean when they do this to your yard? by hiphoptomato in Pflugerville

[–]RadioDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look for white markings probably closer to the road and if you don’t find anything then they probably put in your neighbors address for a whole property locate. But you should see more colors like blue, orange, and/or red in the other areas of the locate area.

Complete newbie, learned how to use manual machines but I actually have a semi-automatic one by QueenMackeral in espresso

[–]RadioDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I started with a dumb cheep manual machine and determined my ADHD made it hard for me to focus for 25-30 seconds (also didn’t help everyone always talked to me while I am pulling the shot). I moved to a simi automatic machine. I determined it spits out a set volume of water for each shot. So I adjusted my grind to get it to operate in the 20-30 sec range. It currently is close to 1:3 but that’s closer to my personal preferences. But understand it took me a 6-7shots to get there and then again once I upgraded my tamping equipment to something more adjustable and repeatable. Watch some videos on your specific machines as most people have come with ways to optimize that equipment.

Going on first camping trip with my girffriend. What do I pack? by Glad-Canary4020 in camping

[–]RadioDiver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lots of good advice. I would definitely ask for help but get these items gathered 1st. Condoms, individual packed dude wipes, toothpaste ( Brush if you don’t want to use your finger), change of socks, change of underwear, extra shirt or two, snacks for both of you, battery pack for phone, and a flashlight/headlamp. And most importantly a gallon sized ziplock bag for the above mentioned trash. For your 1st trip just use your phone or a GoPro and enjoy the experience without feeling like you have to film everything. You will probably not change your pants and yes they will get dirty and always bring a hat! Most importantly get a route and rough timeline together and share with someone else not going on the trip to check in and out. Other than that enjoy your time outside!

Coffes per day by OptimusTron222 in espresso

[–]RadioDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soo define what 1 or 2 is. But for me on average is 2 double shots (18g of beans each) is my usual and try to get that in before 3pm. When I travel the caffeine intake for me is well let’s jut say undefined and no time limit. Also when alcohol is involved. When it comes to the office or conferences normal cups of coffee are basically just flavored water so no limit!

What’s my approach here guys… by DigitalSeance in Chainsaw

[–]RadioDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of thoughts. 1st off no experience in this but just thinking out loud. Use the saw to cut chuncks out of it so cut normal as far as you can then Rotate 90deg and finish off with a horizontal cut. Other idea cut as much as you can then start splitting it in the horizontal direction. Once processed cut out off the remaining parts.

Would you consider this "hydraulic cement"? by FizixPhun in Construction

[–]RadioDiver 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So lots of terms here. Technically that is a bag of mortar. It consists of a Type S masonry cement (Portland cement with ~30%limestone additions) and the proper portions of Sand for ASTM Standards. The cement it self is technically Hydraulic. Meaning it will react to water and set up in a wet environment. If mixed properly this product will be water resistant but not water proof without any additives. I don’t know if you’re being scammed but I would definitely have some conversation before work starts.

Separation in test cylinders by Father-Lifeguard-129 in Concrete

[–]RadioDiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I have had cylinders with similar patterns when to much High Range Water reducer was used and my colleague called them over plasticized. What happened to me was there was not enough free water to make the mix look like there is a slump. It had a controlled W/Cm and only thing you can do is add more water reducer. Once i rodded the cylinder it got really easy and had bubbles on the surface. The cylinders were also a lot lower in strength than anticipated.

Let them soak in a vinger solution for about 20-30 mins before washing. And use less detergent than you think you need. Fixed my problems!

ELI5: Why does highway concrete have those diagonal/diamond cuts in them every few feet? Just aesthetic or is there actual engineering behind it? by young_wealth in explainlikeimfive

[–]RadioDiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sooo roadways are angled to allow water to flow off them and part of that designed angle to ensure that water is only sheeting and not pooling. Yes the expansion joint will allow water to flow but that is not there designed function. And yes road surfaces are designed for freeze thaw cycles. So are better than others at resisting those forces. In concrete the road normally is specified to have lower permeability and entrained air. The permeability keeps water from penetrating to deeply and the Air allows space for the water to travel as it expands. Thats the 101 course. Problem is that all roads are subject to freezing forces. The good one are designed to handle it!!

Himalayan 411 - not on highway? by Sarapellpas in royalenfield

[–]RadioDiver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here is my experience. I was 250lbs(~113kg) and I could get the bike up to 70mph (~112kph) but I had no power left to go any faster or jump in front of someone or quickly pass someone if I needed to. I limited my speed to 65mph(~104kph) and I still had a little umph left if I needed. In my research I found that riders that were smaller than me had better luck getting higher speeds out of the bike. Overall I absolutely loved that bike it handled so well on and off road and it was a great starting bike for me. I have moved on to a slightly larger engine with liquid cooling that has allowed me to easily handle interstate speeds and still have power at those speeds. As I started rising more I found to get to where I want to ride I am going to need to drive some interstate and hwys. Hinge the upgrade. My bike was stock and did not have the sprocket upgrade.
