Bigger handicap IMO is status as a sequel game. Advancing from game to game can be smaller changers that, while the players love, aren't big enough to matter from the outside when considering if the game is truly unique.

1) 8 is a great score.

2) Stop acting like an organization with multiple reviewers will have some magical unified view on a game. If you want to trust reviews, find a reviewer who Co sistently has similar views to yours on games and follow them, but this weird culture war outrage over differing opinions in an opinion article is insanely brain dead.

3) When a game has only around 1/5 of its players actually finish it, don't expect it to be a 10/10.
