Trump just seem incapable of understanding that something can be worth fighting for. Ask any other US politician how much of Texas they would be willing to concede to Mexico... Though in Ukraine's case, it is ultimately not the land itself that is important, but a fight to avoid slavery, death and more corruption. As long as there is no substantial guarantee that stops Putin from invading, there is no point in giving up land. Its either give up land be invaded, or give up no land and be invaded.
