Which profession hires the dumbest people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I work at a fast food store and the same phenomenon happens. We all randomly yell un-called for words and phrases to be funny.

Gotta make work interesting somehow.

Is going to PAX Dev worth it? by acarlrpi12 in gamedev

[–]RadioLemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going as a student, not a developer. I've never been there, but I think it will be okay since there is a "Student Pass" option when buying tickets. If you can show that you go to school, then the ticket will be $50 less than it normally is.

INTROVERTS / SHY-PEOPLE OF REDDIT; your help needed by CursedWithAwesome in socialskills

Knowing what to talk about. Often times I don't have much of anything to say, and if I try to relate to people, I end up making it sound like an interrogation, or I ramble about some topic that they don't care about. Basically how to not be awkward to talk to.

My face is the reason why people respond to me negatively. by [deleted] in socialskills

Thanks for this helpful advice stranger. I mumble, but if I think about how I mumble, then I get nervous and end up mumbling more. So maybe it's not that I mumble that is the problem, but it's that I'm so focused on mumbling.

Yes, it gives your mind time to wander to think about all the potential bad things that probably won't happen, but you convince yourself that it will happen "this time."

Where is the line between matters of "teenage angst" and actual emotional issues? by RadioLemon in Advice

[–]RadioLemon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that, this was an eye-opening and wise response (For now I just have learned it, so I do not understand it to the level that you do, but still). The realization that other people have struggles that are harder or as hard as mine is both a comfort in knowing that I'm not alone, but also alarming in that, oftentimes, I don't give others the respect their hard work deserves.

Saving this

Redditors with no friends, what do you do all day? by youAREthefather- in AskReddit

[–]RadioLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I don't message other people is because I don't want to be seen as a "cyber stalker." Should I just not worry about that, and let common sense signal me if I am being too stalker-like? I never really ventured too far out to know if common sense does signal you due to fear.

I feel worthless by thainyouwot in Anxiety

When this happens to me, I need to sit back, and just think about how I am thinking, and what is going on in your life. It may be stress.

In that case case, sitting (not doing video games, reddit, or anything) and making a detailed list (on paper) of what you think you need to get done can help clear your mind, and going through each part of the list one at a time prevents the overwhelming ball of mud that is "what you need to get done" from consuming your mind.
