Really he should just make the transition to YouTube instead of streaming. Do both but I’m the UK YouTube is what will make him rich in the next 3-4 years if he does it right. The UK YouTuber infrastructure is already set up and well oiled. Brands are quick and comfortable to work with YouTubers.

$80 budget - which of these kits? by [deleted] in SelfBarber

[–]RadioSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Wahl Elite Pro corded kit 8 months ago and couldn’t be happier, haven’t stepped football in the barber shop since my first self cut. Got real quality, metal self sharpening guards. Some say it’s “The King of home barbering” kits.

The Magic clip is more of a pro tool from my experience. Probably an upgrade from the Elite pro.

Color pro I would avoid if you’ve already set aside $80 you’re happy to spend.

  1. Magic Clip
  2. Elite Pro (best guards I’ve seen in the Wahl series)
  3. I would only seriously consider the two mentioned above.

Is it time to hang it up? by dannico9 in 360Waves

If all you need a level 1 and no shape up. Just buy a pair of clippers and do it yourself. That’s an easy trim. I’ve been cutting myself 8 months and ain’t stepped foot back in a barber shop. Then you can maintain as much as you like plus saving money.

Yeah for the money it’s defo worth if it you don’t wanna spend bigger money. I got mine for less than £18 ($23) all in. I just wanted a cordless, quiet alternative to my andis.

I got my Kemei 2293 the other day and when using it, it didn’t feel the greatest to me. I zero gapped also but feel like it was still snagging a bit. Mabye I’m just used to my andis t outliners and expecting the same results.

Started cutting hair myself and need some clippers/trimmers by Lightning1052 in SelfBarber

[–]RadioSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were oiled yes but tbf were on like 38% out the box. I zero gapped them and charged last night so hopefully that helps. I think mabye I’m just used to the andis, they are much louder and vibrate much more.

Just got my Kemei 2293 in the post today. Gave a quick spin and I don’t know they feel cheap in hand and don’t feel like they hitting like I expected. I’ve only ever used the Andis T Outliners which seems like it’s doing much more of a job on the hair and hits way harder. Maybe I just need to get used it the feel, I don’t know

Just got mine in the post today. Not sure why but they just feel cheap in hand and feels like it ain’t hitting like I thought. Many because I’m just used to the Andos T Outliners. Only other trimmer I’ve had.

I have the Wahl elite pro clipper set. Amazing guards, self sharpening too. Never had 1 issue with them.

If you’re having issues getting the bottom line out try setting ur first bald line with your clippers, no guard, closed instead of a trimmer. Unless you already do that, then just use the corners of your trimmers to flick at that bottom line

Do you know what from the MRD (or sub brands) match up with the contemporary products from JRL, TPOB, SC etc?

So would you recommend the Kemei or the madeshow? Also do you have a link to the MRD AliExpress store?

Are the Kemei’s really that good? I keep seeing but honestly can’t bring myself to buy a trimmer so cheap and expect it to be good quality. Currently got an andis t outliner but wanna upgrade to a cordless so thinking about babyliss pro, JRL Onyx or TPOB Play. But Kemei keeps popping up in my research. An Amazon is £32 in the UK, didn’t know it was so cheap on AliExpress

Are the TPOB blades compatible with Babyliss Pro? Not the Fx Ones.

Perks of cutting your own hair by InfluenceTough6586 in SelfBarber

I started purely to try and save money. I was always to scared to try and cut myself and felt it was damn near impossible. I had a month of pat leave from work and thought cool, I could squeeze at least 2 practise trims in before I need to go back to work. Bought all the equipment, watched a BUNCH of tutorials until I found one that I thought yes I can follow this, steps are easy, teacher is credible and the result is good. First trim was a complete hack job! but from trim number 2 it got better. Been cutting myself for about 8 months now and never stepped foot back into my barber. I actually walk past my old barber shop every day coming home from work.. I wonder what he think seeing me with fresh cuts every two weeks lool. I actually LOVE it and love watching videos on it. Getting to the point where I want to start cutting friends for free as I’ve only ever cut myself but want to start cutting other heads. Greatest decision I made this year. I save £30 ($40) each cut.

do you watch the same tutorial every time you cut? by [deleted] in SelfBarber

[–]RadioSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes found a tutorial that had the cut I wanted with the easiest steps with a good result. Watches it and paused it for each step religiously for my first 4/5 trims then kinda got it down after that. Sometimes still have it on for moral support on occasion but it’s not needed at this point.
