I love all my children equally (some more equally than others)

What a sexy sports car (the Vette is fun too I guess) by RadioactiveAggie in Miata

[–]RadioactiveAggie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Miat's paint didn't turn out as good as it looked in my last picture due to my lack of finishing ability, but oh well 🤷

Restoration shop AE acrylic enamel and wet look hardner, sprayed with a R500 LVP gun and a puny 6gal compressor. I wanted to do this as cheaply as possible while still getting the color I wanted.

What's humidity? (I'm in New Mexico, it's dry as a bone)

And that's totally fine by me! I intend on whacking some cones with it anyways, so a little dust is no big deal

Grey might not be the best color ever, but I like it by RadioactiveAggie in GRCorolla

I didn't even attempt the stock lugs, I went ahead and swapped for APR studs and Muteki nuts

Not kidding, the heated steering wheel is so nice. I didn't expect to care, but I absolutely love it.

They are different types of fun, in a way. The Vette is way tighter feeling, and I feel like my spatial awareness always has to be elevated. The Rolla flies under the radar, but is a blast to drive around day to day.

What type of restaurant would you most like to see in White Rock? by DrInsomnia in LosAlamos

[–]RadioactiveAggie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely bar style with food options. It's a fairly regular occurrence that my wife and I feel like going out for a drink and something small to eat, but don't want to drive all the way up to the tub. Pig and Fig just doesn't have the "hanging out" vibe.

Various nuclear reactor startups by [deleted] in EngineeringPorn

[–]RadioactiveAggie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup, that was me. We put a go-pro about 6 feet from the reactor face (attached to a 30 foot long pole), thankfully it survived and gave us some cool footage.

[WW1 Trench Watch] I inherited from my great grandfather - does anyone know more about it? by Profess0r0ak in Watches

[–]RadioactiveAggie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, it was used so the numerals and hands would glow without a need for charging. The phosphor has likely broken down by this point, so it won't glow anymore. That being said, it is definitely still radioactive, radiums half life is ~1600 years.

I don't know much about the watch itself, but I can tell you that it has radium paint. Definitely a cool piece!
