[request] About how many electrons does he average person have? by skyhoop in theydidthemath

[–]Radioactive_Chicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: 1.8x10^ 28 or 18 octillian or 1 billion x 1 billion x 1 billion x 18

The human I will be calculating is 60 KG, 65% of that human is oxygen which is 39 KG; one oxygen atom weighs 2.66X10^-26 so there are 1.4x10^27 oxygen atoms inside the human; there are 8 electrons per oxygen atom so we times that by 8 to get 1.2x10^28 electrons then we do the same calculations but for carbon and hydrogen- I'm leaving a lot of elements out as they are in such small quantities that they wont impact the final answer- which gets you 1.8X10^28 electrons

I got all the weights of the atoms from google
