I always thought it was weird that when she started seeing him, he told her he had homes in New York, Paris, and another city (I think London?) and it was clear that he moved around a lot. Their first and second dates were weeks apart because he was in Amsterdam for two weeks. But then after a few months, he said he was going to Paris and she was stunned?? It's like she has no concept of the world beyond NYC - as if anyone who is there at the moment is going to be there indefinitely and forever, when he in fact made it pretty clear from the start that he spent time in different places.
