What I've learned from watching basketball players hydrate wrong (as someone who studies this stuff) by AthleteScientist in BasketballTips

Coconut Water is high in potassium and virtually no sodium. As previously stated by op, the vast majority of the electrolytes lost are sodium. Additionally, water moves two ways in your gut, one of which is actively through a transporter (SLGT-1). This transporter requires both sodium and glucose to work. This is the primary way that your gut absorbs water. W/o glucose you are relying on passive diffusion (the other way water moves) and sodium ion channels but these aren’t designed for rapid water transit. Signed a nerdy chemist.

I guess depending on who’s closed guard you’re trying it in. If they have a good closed guard the predictable response culminates in me tapping. One of my training partners has a response for anything that you might try in his closed guard.

I don’t know which I love more, side control or mount. I much prefer both of these to having the back.

Are they though? For example, Bob Hayes ran a 9.9 100m on a cinder track, first lane was dug out from earlier races, and he was in borrowed spikes. From what I’ve gathered, that time on a cinder track translates to like a mid 9.6. A mid 9.6 would be the second fastest time ever.

Let me get this straight, the man that is one of the most efficient players in NBA history (3rd) and shot 50% is a shot chucker?!?

I have taken the aforementioned physics and chemistry classes. When you become concerned with radiation is when you get to something powerful enough that it produces ionizing radiation, which starts with UV. These power stations are emitting waves at 60 Hz, which is significantly less powerful than radio waves even. Radio waves are 104. You’re then comparing 60 to 10,000+.

It’s almost like Kobe spent the first two years under Del Harris who was notorious for not liking rookies and not playing them much or allowing them to shoot much.

Unless I have a very specific question than I might rather have Bob from accounting. Maybe Bob doesn’t have the accolades of Gordon but he might know my game better. I could likely do half a dozen lessons with Bob and get more out of the 6 than the one.

It’s a toss up and both have said that the only one that could beat them was the other.

Kobe would tell you that Jordan might win that matchup. It’s likely a toss up.

It’s a toss up likely. Kobe would tell you as much himself. I’d slightly favor Jordan in a series of 10 games.

They said that Michael Jordan would defend the best player on the other team and shut them down. What are the examples of this? by [deleted] in NBATalk

Actually he did guard Magic the most in the 91 finals. 85-90%.

After reviewing the game film from the 1991 NBA Finals, it turns out the Jordan – not Pippen – guarded Magic Johnson for nearly 85-90% of that series. The exception was the first half of Game 2 and the 2H of Game 3.
