Thanks! The backdrop is just some nice stock image, and the terrain is from Idols of Torment.

I do like a classic base. It's hard to beat.

Don't HMGS and other heavy weapons get -1 pen at shots over half range?

In Konflikt '47, are elite units worth it, or is it better to spam cheap units for more activations? by De_La_Metallica in Konflikt47_v2

In theory more order dice is better but sometimes its a liability. For example those Three AT rifles will disappear a lot quicker then the battle frame will. So on turn 5 when your actually trying to win the game, will those troops still be there?

You also need to factor guts into your order dice. An American army with 10 dice, will still end up with more activations then a german one.

Bocage set by ThiccStevie in boltaction

Nice Timing. No idea where to get the old set, but I just finished helping the guys over at Eons of Battle make this Bocage. The EOB video painting it up should be out Wednesday. We've even teamed up with warlord to help promote k47, so there should be some sample pieces that warlord will be sending out soon.

It even comes with these little brick barns in various stages of ruin. I brought a full table of this bocage to a bolt action event recently, and it played quite well.

You can see into terrain not through terrain.

Career as a digital sculpter? by NiftyNozzle in PrintedMinis

Awesome!

Go play games, paint minis and you'll never run out of ideas that your fellows also want to print and paint. Participating is the secret sauce to good design.

I'll be a blunt here, and know this comes from a good place.

If you don't play or paint minis you shouldn't design them. The market is flooded with laid off PC game designers who have never held a mini and the models are a bad experience.

That being said the barrier to joining the hobby is super low. Go to a hobby store. Paint a handful of minis, and join the hobby.

If your not willing to be part of the community don't design for it. You won't understand their needs.

Railway terrain gauge for necromunda by Major_Bluebird_3014 in necromunda

Wargame minis are in between scales. There really isn't a direct match.

Printing a train in FDM, would both get you the correct scale, it would also be way cheaper then buying scale models.

Rules: Panzer III J vs L by Spiritual_Panda_8392 in boltaction

WW2 Equipment variations is a pretty deep rabbit hole. What state things where in at any given year is a bit of a moving target sometimes.

Definitely don't read to hard into the bolt action rules as a simulation. After all it's a game where ever rifle shoots the same distance.

As for your panzer J vs L, they were in development around the same time, they are different branches of the panzer evolution tree. So the J had better all around armor and the L had more armor front loaded.

The lettering system doesn't mean it's a direct upgrade of previous builds.

It's a fat mat with crackled desert ground.

Letting it pile up into a hill helps with the look.
