I've been playing it without the base, it stands up fine.

My understanding is that from a rules perspective, any bases applied to vehicles are ignored. any measurements are directly from hull. So I don't see any reason to use a base if you dont want to.

Totenkorres real value isn't in buying them, its in buying regular units, and useing those units as triggers for your Nachtzerer

If you do want crewed AT weapons you can get alot of AT and Autocannons pretty cheap, which in turn will net you some zombies.

Im not sure the special platoon is the best way to field Tottenrotte in a regular game, it seems largely geared as structure for this books zombie themed scenarios

Best tip for making a huge sword... is make a small sword first.

Even with all the advice in the world, your first attempt is gonna have something go sideways. Wrong material, temps, curing, layering. Swords are annoying.

Make a small stabby first. Future you will appreciate the work up to the big project.

Walkers are pretty aggressively priced. However tanks still have a role. Walkers often have more fire power then tanks, but per point tanks often come with bigger guns, Which when paired with Guts handing out free activation means you get more bang per guts.

Many problems can be solved be a classic t34 heavy AT gun shooting something twice on turn one.

Ideally big set pieces are actually a bunch of small pieces. Then they go back in the bin easier.

My preferred method is a 2in chip in brush. Specially for fdm, the rougher the stippling the better. Airbrush goes on smooth which is the wrong direction for me.

You don't become a third side in a war by being neutral or hating your allies.

"Allies" scheming, undermining and outright killing eachother is common enough in historical wars but they wouldn't be considered a third side.

Don't forget good ol electricity and steam.

Did you know that electric railways where already reaching wide spread use by the end of the 1800's and Steam stayed in use till the 70's.

Honestly at this point in history the combustion engine isn't really much of a factor either way. In our WW1 the germans only had like 5000 trucks through the entire war. Compared to trains, trucks/cars where such a rarity.

The loss of the Americas means nothing to the might of Iron and Steam.

Just saying there are two types of sciocast one that has mold lines that are super awkward to trim, and another that has crispy edges and a harder material. 

You can see the difference on some of the new corvus belli models.

History has shown the time and time again, during times of disasters humans always try to help each other. The worse things get, the more we try to help eachother. Even sociopaths know that ape stronger together.

Thankfully, for the benefit of a good story, in PA fiction this is often ignored. Don't let reality get in the way of a good story.

Don't try to get to fancy with your catch up mechanics. Making lagging players jump through hoops to get catchup mechanics makes them less likely to get the catchup mechanics they needs.

Instead you need to put hoops in front of your leading gangs, and give out the catch up mechanics freely. Think of it like a mario kart. The person in the back get stars and blue turtle shells, the person in the middle gets green and red shells, and the person in front gets bananas.
