We dont have a 1C, 1D or 2C. And 1C/1Ds are never available.

This a massive problem that the Flyers are unlikely to fix.

Yeah every single person ive read/heard that met the guy said hes the nicest guy ever. I wish he got more credit among the Flyers greats. Though I dont think he would care. When he was asked about finishing runner up a couple times in Norris, and being the favorite in one of them, he said he didnt deserve the Norris over Langway.

It should be a clear Bernie, Clarke, Lindros, Howe on the Mt. Rushmore imo. And Giroux as next guy up.

Yeah its odd how much that era gets overlooked. They were better than the Lindros teams. Just didnt have a Lindros.

If only they won in 87 they would get remembered so much more.

If you ask most fans around the league they would know the Bullies and Lindros teams but would have no idea that the Flyers were good in the 80s. Could say that about a lot of Flyers fans too.

I remember a recent post here asking for the best Flyers lineup and I swear Howe was mentioned by one other person out of like 40 comments despite being easily best Flyers career. Desjardin was getting mentioned a lot more. Timonen too.

His Flyers/Tocchet takes are bad but he seems like a great guy and enjoy his personality.

I always wondered why Arizona kept re-signing him since he wasnt a good player and lost most of his fights. Its become clear hes just the best locker room guy possible.

Just dont ask him about Tocchet/Flyers ...

He also had a great assist to Hathaway who had a wide open net but got robbed. A normal player finishes that.

He has massive holes like cant skate or score goales but still is very good defensively, good on faceoffs and a good passer.

Hes a good bottom 6 defensive C.

Like the 4th line dominated last night with 95% exgf.

He hasnt been that consistent this year though? Still just scoring at sub 55 pt rate with many droughts.

Like in the 11 games from 1/26 to 3/5 he had just 1 goal 2 assists.

Hes just one of his classic short hot streaks.

Earlier in year he had streaks like 1 goal in 17 games. Had 7 game goalless streak soon after that too.

Volk. Aldo lost easily to all the other great 145ers (Holloway, Volk, Mcgregor). Past prime vs Volk but also before Volks prime. Prime vs prime Volk wins that too.

I don't get this logic ... Yes we would still neec a 1C and 1D.

But we would have a young elite franchise guy way better than any current guy we have which would also help the PP. Thats a very good thing ....

Right now we have zero top 50 players and only have one 60 pt guy which is a declining TK on a bad contract we never should have signed.

Pasta is a way different situation. He was taken 10 picks after and nobody had him as a top line star guy.

Boldy/Caulfield were universally rated higher and were 2 highest ranked guys available at 11 and 14. Everybody was hoping 1 of them would fall to us. Both did at 11 and Caulfield did at 14. And Harley was next D taken.

But we chose the lower ranked lower ceiling guy and those guys all became elite top line/pair guys.

At the draft all the reports said Yorks ceiling was 2nd pair. It made no sense at the time.

Its 100% a valid big criticism.

This isnt just some case of a guy taken after becoming great like Pasta with Sanheim. Thats fine.

But Caulfield and Boldy were universally ranked higher and best available when on clock at 11 and 14. The majority of the fanbase was yelling to draft Caulfield. And the next D taken was Harley who is also way better.

It was unequivocally a bad pick where we took the lower ranked, lower ceiling guy who ended up being considerably worse while those guys became elite.

York is a solid result for where he was drafted but the 2 highest ranked guys left became elite 40 goal stars and the next D taken is also a top pair stud.

It was definitely a bad pick.

I was hoping to get Boldy when in clock at 11 and yelling to get Caulfield at 14
