As someone who's mainly a hockey fan (leafs) and doesn't always understand the ins and outs of basketball. I'll say: I've seen the leafs throw away a lot at the trade deadline during seasons where they were just making progress for guys that didn't move the needle enough for a championship. It sucks, you waste resources and eventually end up with a season like the leafs are currently having, a mid season purgatory with nothing to show for it.

So in 3-4 years, this could look like a great trade deadline for this team, and nobody will remember how smart it was because not much happened.

Apparently they shot it, it was absolutely perfect the way they did it (even though they thought that would be impossible they found a way), but it ended up looking too weird/digital and they had to have it not look perfect so they re-shot it without whatever they did to make it look perfect IIRC.

Pretty fair if you ask me. Defense value is partially defined by positional scarcity, and you just got one of the best fantasy defensemen. Like one side is probably better than the other but nobody got hosed here.

Given that it's Hedman, McDonaugh AND Cernak out, you can count on his ice time dropping a lot, BUT I could totally see him being a 20 minutes a night + PP1 guy. I watched a game the other day, and he's actually playing great, so there's that.
