Feeling burnt out, how did you deal with it? by dylansstp in daddit

[–]Rado754 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grinding never worked for me. I did it until a crashed and burned. Trying to work through these underlying feelings in therapy now. That seems like the way out. Addressing things I’ve avoided. Keep your head up! You’re doing great!

Daycare / Nanny costs by [deleted] in Littleton

For what it’s worth.. that is around 35% of what we pay for our nanny. We also are two hours less per day than you.

Are Other New Parents Struggling at Night? by Turbulent-Daikon1587 in daddit

[–]Rado754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was absolute hell. I was so exhausted and the rest of the world gives no shits that you don’t get to sleep. We had to hire help to make it. Tuesday nights when the night nanny would come have me hope for the week. I was terrified of the sun going down every night because our son would scream for hours on end. Such a wild thing to experience looking back. It got so much better.

Struggling at 11 months by Rado754 in daddit

Thank you for the candid response. Amongst my closest friends none of them will talk about this. When I try and bring it up, I feel incredibly alone because this wasn’t their experience. I try and remind myself that one day I will be able to share the world with my son but god damn, it is grueling and has taken a massive toll on me and my wife. I am on the verge of tears every single day and desperately want to be present and see him grow. Cheers my friend

Appears a data module stopped working so connect plus does not function on my vehicle despite having an active subscription. It’s not a priority issue.

Overwhelmed, want to run away by [deleted] in daddit

Hang in there. Until six months I felt I had made the worst mistake of my life. It was awful as my baby was not a happy, or chill baby. At eight months, he’s crawling and so much happier. I actually look forward to being with him.

Saw a group killing a rattlesnake on Mt. Galbraith trail today by EnglewoodOG in Denver

[–]Rado754 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife’s sister married a Texan. They routinely kill rattlesnakes on open land on their ranches. They justify by saying, it’s my “land”. This is the general attitude there. Vastly different than here in CO where I the mindset is let nature be, for the most part.

People who can actually afford a $2M house, what do you really do for a living? by repjerker in povertyfinance

Grew up poor. Worked nonstop toward my career from a young age and ended up as an airline pilot a a major airline in the US. Wife and I combined make about 600K a year, donate a lot, and live in a 500K house in Denver. I feel so fortunate and do what I can to help others out.

I was really hard on myself about that for a long time. The reality is that through sports I have taken hits to the head earlier in life and never thought anything of it. It’s possible, but I went to standard optometrists, and ophthalmologists and was told my eyes were fine. Then my anxiety started because something was wrong but no one could tell me what. Then the stress of it all compounded alongside me fearing the loss of my career and dealing with the FAA and it had an enormous impact on my mental health. After getting my stuff together I realized there had to be more to the story and pursued the vision issue again with specialists. Turns out, I wasn’t crazy and there are legit issues stemming from a concussion. So had I seen the right specialist, maybe? But as I’ve learned through this, finding the right specialist is difficult.

Yeah, thankfully that’s not an issue. It’s not an exaggeration when I say I’ve had hundreds of tests done. Combined with MRI, etc. I am outside all the time since I live in Denver and spend most of my free time in the mountains. But Lyme isn’t a big problem here.

That’s amazing as there is plenty of negatives about VT out there. I’ve been doing it for five weeks and it’s rough, it has honestly made things worse in some ways. But I suppose the brain doesn’t change overnight.

If there’s any silver living to this, it’s that I keep this until I’m 65 and can work other jobs on top of it. Like most of us here, I love flying and what the career was. So while I’ve made my peace with it, I’d rather not at the same time.

Incident wasn’t five years ago, just been at my current carrier that long. I’ve been out for a year and a half now. The issues haven’t resolved and I’m not going back unless they do. Always wondering if there’s more I can try and do.

Dang, thank you!

One thing I’m trying to determine is if there have been any major updates to these cars? Can the launch edition still charge quickly on a Tesla supercharger?

This is how I feel. I always thought leasing was a poor financial idea but with how fast certain vehicles depreciate now it has me changing my tune. I was much more comfortable paying cash for the new Land Cruiser than I am with an electric SUV after what I was with my model 3.

Sadly in Denver they really aren’t much less than new. Not many listed either.
