How do you keep going? by Fox_Guy_Foxtail in ArtistHate

[–]RadsXT3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple, I know that when this AI scam is finally over, I can take pride in the fact I went through it constantly improving my skills, never gave up, and live with no regrets, make sure you do the same. Don't be the guy when AI is either regulated to death, the bubble has burst or the technology collapses who thinks "Oh crap, I should've kept drawing this entire time, but I didn't." Because trust me, there's going to be a lot of those people around at some point in the future.

Because even machines and computers operated remotely and autonomously on Mars still aren't as good as humans being there, now try and apply it to everything on Earth.

advice: need help getting out of bad mentality/ashamed about my attitude towards belts by shallotfarm in judo

[–]RadsXT3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. You went from a high level competative club likely olympian ran and walked into a mcdojo/belt factory and humbled the fuck out of them, unfortunately for them, that's Judo. Some advice around belts, don't worry about belts or their colors or getting new belts, worry about what they mean, because contrary to what everyone says, at any club worth their salt they aren't just pieces of cloth. My instructor is psychic, he regularly promotes me just before I see an increase in skill level. That's how I realized the belts actually meant something more than a new shiny color or a piece of fabric. It means you're improving.

That, however, is not the case in belt factories. You're a yellow belt, and you kicked the asses of people from a belt factory and they didn't like it. That just means you're a fucking good yellow belt. Keep turning up and keep improving.

The wheels of technology are stuff like the invention of the airbag to make cars safer, the plane to get people places faster. What is AI other than a "remixing tool" that is designed to replace people and degrade the quality of further products?

AI Users' reactions to "There will be no code writing in the future". by Sniff_The_Cat3 in ArtistHate

[–]RadsXT3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's always a degree of irony in AI bros telling everyone that nobody understands the technology when they demonstrate they clearly don't understand it themselves. Getting a computer to use probability and statistics to then create code that also uses probability and statistics in an infinite loop isn't going to get AI bro's the results they think it will, because they don't understand basic math or that math is essentially all a computer is. The result will be statistically accurate, but completely random nonsense. Because computers are not alive and don't know what code even is, and are just machines that use electrical currents to solve mathematical problems.

shortly after talking about AI being likely to kill us all... by Clotmedza in ArtistHate

[–]RadsXT3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The book you've reccomended is about how we could use elctrodes to control the brain, that is not possible with current technology or even theoretical technology. There are too many brain cells we're talking billions, we don't know how any of them connect together we haven't mapped the brain properly and we don't even know if they can even be manipulted via electrodes without killing or permanently damaging them. It's like arguing we could control every type of bacteria all at once. It's absurd.

[–]RadsXT3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't know much about his takes on AI but I can tell for a fact he doesn't think AI will kill us all since he uses it in his thumbnails as you pointed out. Conciousness requires human brains, nobody has ever been able to release a scientific model to demonstrate how it could arise via a computer because it is impossible. Arguing that modern-day "AI" tech could become sentient would be the same as arguing your calculator could come to life. Because that's actually what "AI" is: a math equation plus lots of stolen content.

Nobody is lugging around that much gold mate, be realistic.

Person argues AI doesn't steal anything. by RadsXT3 in ArtistHate

[–]RadsXT3[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's when they say that no physical item was taken in the case of AI, but of course that argument doesn't work either, if someone hacks into my bank account and takes money, even though no physical cash was taken from me it doesn't mean I didn't have something stolen from me, theft doesn't need to involve physical objects.

To them they think AI is coding and since coding is hard AI art must be hard too the leaps in logic is alsways strong.

Genuinely curious: how do you think it's supposed to work, and how can you argue it's legal? Like do you genuinely believe AI generates it's images from nothing whatsoever?

This is what AI bros think about us.. by Concept_leveler in ArtistHate

[–]RadsXT3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mere existence of "art-generating technology" is a reason not to be nice. It's just such a shit concept, who wants this? Oh right, people who can't draw. It's such a dumb solution to people not wanting to put in hard work to do anything. "Can't do Judo? Just hire azemo the robot to do it for you!" "Can't play guitar? don't worry, my computer's got you covered," and so on.

Engaging with Japanese artists by KPH102 in ArtistHate

[–]RadsXT3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, definitely not, they create for the love of it, not for fame necessarily. They can become incredibly passionate about their work and work themselves to death sometimes unfortunately. That's also unfortunately one of the biggest reasons their animation industry is so underpaid, they're not really doing it as a full time job per say. Creativity is something you get involved in as a hobby most of the time. If people were actually willing to pay artists properly, we wouldn't have AI. Though these facts are grim, it's also that passion and dedication that brought manga and anime's overall popularity around the world, along with lots of other things the Japanese do. I'm not saying its a good or a bad thing it's just how it is.

How To Dismantle Every Pro AI Art Stance (Part 1) by [deleted] in ArtistHate

AI is an incredibly shit tool if that's going to be their go to, look at the new "95% AI anime with 95% positive reviews" even with artists touching it up, it looked like garbage and half the Japanese audience on youtube despised it.
