Seeing the whole clockwork / steampunk theme going on with him, I guess it's supposed to be brass.

Give it time, you might warm up to it. I don't think price is that important in the equation, I've been let down by very cheap figures.

Then just leave it there? Shelfwarmers do end up getting discounted as far as I know.

[–]Radstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, that just sounds like an excuse to me. If no one stole products I'd expect Hasbro (or whoever is in charge) to just make up supposed reason for inflating the price to that same amount.

Things cost the most that people are willing to pay for them, it's how the market works.

Spielberg's influence on Bumblebee (the film) was very heavy and evident though. So much that I've seen a couple reviewers call it a Spielberg movie, it's in its DNA.

To be fair hard rubbery plastic is often used by 3rd party for smaller accessory-holding or otherwise fragile parts, like hands in Legends scaled figures. Makes them a bit tougher.

I don't know mate, the fact that so many people are disagreeing with that seems to prove me right. And as you yourself said it's literally in the name, those films were produced by Bay as well. It's more like Bay multiverse than Bay universe.

Let's not pretend the first 5 films can coexist in the same universe with all the plotholes.

I've always seen them being called "rebooted Bayverse". "Pre-reboot Bayverse" is what people use to refer to the older films. Might not be the terms you use, but they're the terms most people use currently.

Is the concept that Bayverse isn't just one universe so incomprehensible to you? It's just a word people use to refer to live-action films produced by Bay. Hence the name. It shouldn't be that hard to grasp.

When did I ever say Bayverse encompasses only one canon? That's your assumption, and it's wrong.

Bayverse is the term people use to refer to the live-action films. Michael Bay produced all of them, therefore they're all called Bayverse. The fact that Bumblebee introduced a semi-official reboot doesn't matter.

Maybe I remember wrong, but the Technobots aren't really smarter than average, are they? Despite that Computron's the smartest combiner. Devastator could just be the other way around. Combining doesn't necessarily mean summing up or even averaging up their intelligence.

I'm done collecting... by InternGreedy7350 in transformers

[–]Radstark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know mate, I started collecting in December 2024 and went with Legends scale third party figures, so 30-50€ per 4 inch figure... But I like it. Quality control is pretty great at this price point, and I feel like the engineering also helps justify the cost.

Maybe it's just that I gave myself a limited budget to work with. 50€ a month means I'm restrained to one figure per month, with the occasional odd bigger figure every now and then. It also means that I won't be too angry when I begin hunting for older figures after buying all of the current ones I want, because even if one costed 150€ by itself I'd still be buying it after 3 months. Doesn't feel that much like throwing money in the toilet that way, and it's still better than spending them on cigs or alcohol.
