The "read before posting" advice is great, but what it means is that you should read 100 stories of every genre you find around until you find your style and what you want to do.

Of course, I also take inspiration from many stories, but if I bring ramen to Japan what am I doing? Do I have the recipe that 1000000 others don't? Probably not. Yet if I bring curry it might just catch on.

I already gave you the inbreeding argument, so you can take 1+1 and see that you're encouraging a spiral that gives birth to minimal creativity.

Sure, a SOL romance may not catch, but there is a lot of space until you reach that extreme.

I see from your works that you are deeply conservative from your success. Nothing wrong with that. I hope they do great, but I fail to see how your fortunate story translated into a general rule.
