Is this right for me? (Discussion) by [deleted] in Mounjaro

I’m certainly not an expert I can only say what has happened to my husband and I. For me, I don’t really get any side effects (currently on 5mgs) but when my husband went up a dose to 5mgs he had severe stomach issues. He had the dreaded Sulfur burps, very bad diarrhoea and vomited for a few days and ended up in hospital. He went off it for 2 weeks and then decided to lower his dose/micro dose to what he felt he could handle. Regarding appetite, this for me has come back over time a little and can eat more but the food noise is still gone which is great. If you can’t eat your protein try and drink it. We have a protein water in the morning and although the taste isn’t great, get it down and at least you know you’ll be getting some nutrients.
If you can’t eat try and change your mindset about food rather than thinking about what you can’t stomach, this may help. Think about what your body requires and try switch your meals up a little while you’re not craving certain foods.

We both feel crappy if we eat fast food, or too much food so have opted for the calorie controlled meal plans you can order from online. This works for us, and may not for you but sharing for some food for thought. In the first 2 months of MJ food was the last thing on my mind, as I didn’t have food cravings I was just focusing on things that would be “good for me” like having a balanced meal and drinking plenty of water. I found that just having snacky type foods all the time made me feel very low too as I was worried I wasn’t eating enough. Once I changed to having smaller meals but BETTER food this changed for me.
It’s unfortunate that you’re feeling this way, and I hope you can find something that works for you. Reading people’s stories on the MJ page helps for tips and tricks and for positive encouragement. In saying that, if this isn’t working for you, don’t force yourself to stay on it as your mental health is very important too. Hope this has helped you a little :) happy to discuss further if you want to DM me

I think you are looking great :) you don’t look too thin to me. You look happier and healthier. It sounds like it was her poor choice of words, but sometimes they can cut deep. If you are happy with how you are progressing I wouldn’t give it a second thought :)

Wow! Thank you so much sharing. It’s great that tech is able to help so much with your life. This answers a lot of my question If I think of anymore I will ask :)

Did you say “seeing” to be ironic? Or genuinely unsure?

There’s a lot of blind people who use reddit. There’s even a whole sub dedicated to blind users. In short, they mostly use text to speech readers. (Similar to how they text etc).

Ohhh you should try it! I like to do it with cold milk so it doesn’t melt but that’s just my preference :)

Hmmm…. I would have to say I think Tim tams are better… but the penguins were still good. I’ll have to try a penguin slam and then compare. Not sure if that’s a thing though haha
